Steve Harmison.............

Well, I don't have any axes to grind against Steve Harmison, in fact I wish him well but I'd rather he'd been able to find a role within cricket. Football bores me lately, too much money, always the same teams, anonymous players.

I was watching a Sunday morning game the other week and both Steven and his brother James played. Steven should definitely stick to cricket cos he's shite at football.

Wasn't aware of that.

Haven't they'd lost 10 of the last 11 games or sommat?

Been very poor this season. Felt as if Gary Middleton had taken the club as far as possible. The senior cup final that we won was at St James - we won 0-3. Canny night out, that was!

Agree with that, he seems to talk a lot of sense. He must have something to offer.

I read this thread last night when there were 2 posts and thought good on him, working his way up. Didn't realise it was the football team.

Also agree with the football comment, the lack of hope for anyone outside the top few teams is soul-destroying

Best of luck to him. Seems like an obvious PR stunt at first glance but he played for the club as a 16 year old and it's his local side.

They've got a cracking fanbase for the level they play at - one of a few clubs who could rely on the turnstiles to generate sufficient money if they were to seek promotion. Which I'd love to see them do.

No chance of Harmison going for promotion then. Can't see him fancying long travels to Darlington and the likes in the Evo Stick North!!
