Stendel



There's a possibility in the Stendel situation that is plausible. There's a chance that there are conditions in his severance package which prevent him joining another English club until a certain point in time. It may be the case that joining a Scottish team wouldn't be the same contractual stumbling block.

His record is pretty uninspiring, not sure where the clamour for him comes from tbh. Barnsley had the basis of an excellent league one squad when he took over and he got them promoted which is pretty much what everyone expected.

Exactly it’s just pure guesswork based on him been a foreign name, he couldn’t exactly go wrong the squad they had and when the going did get tough he failed. He had the job of rebuilding the team like we need and he fucked it up really weird why people want him

Not really right though, is it?
1) he got them promoted playing attacking attractive football
2) he was given players and told to make the most of it.

He hardly had the chance to build the team his way.

If it did then it's yet another terrible decision by Donald and Methven. We might have saved a few thousand by going for Parkinson though. It is being reported Stendel will be in the directors' box at Tynecastle tomorrow night and take charge from Thursday. It'll be interesting to see how he does.

On BBS, the main Barnsley message-board, it's quite obvious most of their supporters regard Paul Conway their Co-Chairman as an embarrassment and are as mystified as anyone else by his demands for compensation on a manager they sacked two months ago.
