Steijn or Potter (managerial suggestion)

top tier managers will have been earning 10x what we're going to pay.

It'll be someone young on their way up ( then Warnock end of Feb )

I’ve already mentioned him… definitely my choice but we’l be after a yes man
Potter has turned down a bigger job than SAFC alreasdy...chelsea could still be paying him £1mn a month to not work..no way he comes here for less money to work.
Why? Where's the ambition?
Cos he earns more now from not working..cos he has turned down at least one bigger job than SAFC already..

Genuine question here, who has potter turned down?

Shows how much Sunderland fans have been ground down and know their place, when implying that Sunderland isn't the right job. It is definitely the right job IMO for a manager with ambition, even allowing for the shit show that has been its recent past.

Got to be realistic mate this is a guy that has just managed 2 prem teams making a big success at one then failing at one of the biggest clubs in the country i just can’t see him dropping down into the championship

True, I just think you have to reach for the stars, rather than settle for mediocrity. If Potter had any sense he would see the long term potential, instead of probably ending up at somewhere like Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brentford or Bournemouth.
