A lot of people in this day and age don't even know what being offended is. They see a certain word and automatically it flags a negative response.
I kid you not, but it's got so bad that simply saying the word "Jew" out loud with no context whatsoever will have heads turned as they already assume something negative.

I must admit things I joke about can seem offensive to some, which is why I normally only use it with friends I know who won't get Anal Parkinsons and proceed to cry about it
