Statues for outside grounds for people who have won nowt at those clubs

The Robson thing with the mags is bizarre, they as they usually do got above their station and hounded him out. Built a statue strangely on the back of his time there, cracking bloke but his achievements with England, barca PSV, Ipswich etc outweighed everything compared to there.

They should build a statue for Micheal Owen also

Odd place to have one, but walking through Albert Park in Middlesbrough I came across a statue of Brian Clough. Complete with his training gear on and football boots over his shoulder. It’s quite good actually.

When Clough played for Boro he walked through Albert Park for training everyday on his route from his home in Valley Road to Ayresome Park (a distance of around one mile).

The location site was chosen following consultation with his family who were fully behind the choice.

Bobby Robson.
But they only built it to glean off his death, and his achievements he’d had in football…. apart from at the Mags.
In reality, managing Newcastle was merely a footnote in an otherwise successful career.

Statue for being a supporter, didn’t even come from the town.

Wilf Mannion won 26 England caps whilst at Boro and a Great Britain cap (only ten other players have ever earned the latter). One of those ten was his Boro team-mate George Hardwick who also has a statue at The Riverside. Hardwick played for England 13 times whilst at Boro and Captained the Great Britain team in that aforementioned match. The only man ever to claim that honour.

Like some others from that era, their international appearances were reduced significantly by World War II.

They could build a one of Rodwell. Pose standing motionless ,while everything else around him was moving.Very apt.
Think the metrocentre is proposing building one of rodwell
