What about his superb run and cross for Wyke? Bar the McGeady goal it was our best bit of quality all night.
Good point that. I’m gutted for wyke blowing that chance. The lad looks totally bereft of all confidence

And before others start, he is a league one plodder, always will be, so is very limited in ability

We have some very rank, rank as fuckin rank average can be, league 1 at best players, and that is the problem. That's why we're a middling league 1 team. Awful. Goalkeeper aside every single player we've brought in has been rank average league 1 at best.

For me the last 2 games have shown some players aren't up to it and some are. Some have a positive effect on the game, some don't.

So, starters from now on for me are:

McLaughlin
O'Nien
Leadbitter
McGeady
Watmore
Maguire
Grigg

I'd also find a place on the bench for Kimpioka.
You can add Honeyman to those.

I'm not taking the watta, but I honestly thought he could dee nee mare. The barl was always moving away from him & neither he nor anyone else was going to turn it into the net. The angles & pace of the barl were wrong. I thought Wyke played his best game for us tonight. He's getting better (admittedly in small increments) each time he plays. We won't see the best of him till next season, I reckon.

I can only see the lad leaving at the end. His card as scapegoat is marked now. On another night he would have scored but it just will not fall for the boy

I’m not one to have a go as he is what he is. A league one plodder. He is giving his all

He was shit marra.
No he wasn't. Why do you appear to delight in being negative? Do you support Sunderland without reservation or do you prefer to be fickle & only get behind them if they're doing well?

I don't disagree. My only observation (which applies equally to Grigg) is that a single goal can make a significant difference for a striker. Tiny margins....

That’s exactly what I was posting earlier tonight. Grigg could/should have two goals by now, four more points and second tonight

It really is that close for safc. 15 nerve shredding games to go. I love it

He was dreadful. I don't delight in the fact but I'm not gonna shy away from it. Bury ya head deeper in the sand marra if ya want cos he's a git canny lad ya kna n trains git hard n that.

What sand is that, me owld rose-tinted Pollyanna? You be brave & tell it like it isn't. Whatever you do, please don't strike a pose to support Sunderland. That would be unsustainable. Find another team on which to lavish your dubious yet always biased praise. While you're on, take half of this board with you. There's an abbreviated Anglo Saxon subtext in there, but I'll leave you to find that for yourself.

 Bless. Let's get witty with it and hope he forgets the football.

I'm not looking for the negatives... they're there. The lad simply does not know what to do or where to be. Glued to the byline, hiding. Has the ball, pass it back . Put the emotional wreck of a centre half under more pressure why don't ya.

One good cross when practically coaxed into it and that was it. Offered nothing else. His dithering and ultimate shockingly bad ball to Power late on was hideous.

Right back he might not be, but dreadful he absolutely was.

He scored too was about a foot offside.

We conceded 2 goals on the left side of our defence, he was playing right back.

He was decent tonight but some have an agenda, again...

I like him. I have no agenda at all. I thought he was poor tonight. Matthews is a better right back and O’Nien seems to be about 100th choice in midfield (maybe it’s Ross with the agenda). The positioning of all the defenders was poor and their second goal was from a cross from our right under no pressure from anyone. He also kept playing square balls in our own half putting us in trouble. He almost put them through on goal with one second half. In fact the ball anywhere near any of our defenders tonight resulted more often than not in complete chaos.

He has played well previously as right back but not tonight.
