Star Trek : Discovery

Bumperoony

The reviews for E04 aren't very pleasant.

I hope this isn’t what we have to look forward to the rest of the season. Because if so, this show is in bad shape. This is a mess of an episode, full of subplots that don’t fit well together as the writers try to maintain serialization while still telling a coherent, standalone tale.

Update: Well I've watched it and thought it was the best one so far, if you can cope with the silliness of slug powered space travel.

Jason Isaacs is still excellent, and the annoying ginger lass still has her head nipple and is still annoying.

(I booked our media room and hooked my Chromecast to the projector - I wonder how many weeks I can get away with doing this for )

There is quite a lot going on in episode four, personally the Klingon bloke is a moaning little @#&* and as much as I like the ship Discovery, I’m just sure the so-called new warp drive thing. As a plot device it feels too much like its simply there to save the day at the last minute sort of thing.

The “nipple” lass, well now that it has been pointed out, it’s a little bit distracting!

The timeline thing is still bugging me a bit, I know it shouldn’t but it is a massive big elephant in the room!

Spoiler tags please mate.

It’s just convincing me more and more that the ginger thing on top her head is the intelligent one in that symbiotic relationship, the nipple is its nostril to take in nutrients. The lass is simply it’s mode of transport. She is actually Deltan

Spoiler tags please mate.

Spoiler tag for what exactly? I’ve not really giving anything away!

I seen you mention you'd watched episode 4 and then immediately talk about some moaning Klingon which I assumed was from that episode, which would have been a small spoiler.
My apologies if that assumption was incorrect.

Tbf saying there's a moaning Klingon isn't really a spoiler.
Mentioning specific details about an episode that you'd not know unless you'd seen the episode is the definition of a spoiler.
Whether that spoiler bothers you personally is the only subjective part.
I'm personally not that bothered to know there's a Klingon in this episode, but some might be bothered. So rather than you deciding for others what they should or should not think is a spoiler, it's better just to respect everyone and put any details in spoiler tags or wait 24 hours.

Fuck off man you big winge, there's a spaceship in this one, fair few aliens too. He was vague as fuck.

All that he said from what I remember was that there was an annoying Klingon, that's not a spoiler in anyone's book.

Anyway thought on the episode:

When Michael made that decision about the threat it seemed wrong. It being the right course of action was a massive shock, didn't see it coming.

Not seen the episode, know nowt about it, bet that's bang on though.

You really would argue black is white. It was a episode specific detail which is the definition of a spoiler!
Only someone exremely arrogant would deem themselves in a position to decide for others if a spoiler is important or not.
All I'm asking for is just to play it safe, have some common courtesy and use spoiler tags for any details at all. Why do you deem it necessary to argue against that point which benefits everyone?

Nevermind, ignore that last question it's YOU!

It's you taking issue with another poster, then me when I agreed with him you f***ing idiot!

I'm the spoiler police in threads like this if it's anything specific.

I took issue with a potential spoiler, it was YOU that once again turned that simple request into an argument.
Do you realise you're literally arguing against a simple common courtesy, that's how far your egocentric argumentative addiction has got ffs!

No, there's things to discuss that are not Episode specific.
Thats why have spoiler tags. Simple.

An annoying Klingon isn't episode specific.

Glad we cleared that up.

The red mist came down and my egocentric argumentative addiction really kicked in there.

It's not a specialist forum man! There's star trek forums for that.

Also spoiler tags can further confuse things E.G. someone thinks the spoiler is just for the episode, but they find out it reveals information from future episodes instead.

It tells you that there's going to be a new character in this episode, it tells you they are going to get enough screen time to be more than just a background character, it tells you they are Klingon and that they are annoying.
None of that happened in the last episode
So it's episode specific
So it's a spoiler
So fuck off
I'm off to the pub to watch the footy
Kurnt.

f***ing hell :lol::lol:

It's ok he dies at the end so you don't need to worry

Fuck it.. if we all agree not to respect spoiler tags then i'm fine with that and will avoid the page for a day.
It's just that we started the thread respecting them from the very start.
Qapla mutherfockers!
