You can sit there all day repeating yourself over and over, you just look like a grade A f***ing tool

I look like a grade a tool because i have a difference of opinion?

He's hardly played in the last 4 years TBH.

He was good at one stage. If O'Neill can get him motivated - and that's one of his strengths - I don't see why it can't be a decent bit of business.

And why do you think that?

So why isnt he still getting into a top sides squad and rather being shipped out to anyone that will take him away for a few month?

Why was he awful at West ham and Fulham who are not top clubs?

Most of the players there were awful last season mate.

They went down. There was only Scott(y) Parker who was left with any reputation after that - that's why almost all of them stayed put.

Because youre sat there repeating it over and over and over to slag off off a player who hasnt even kicked a ball for us yet. A short term deal for a premiership player to give us much needed options at left and all you can do is repeat the same shite every 2 minutes. Fuck off you tedious little rat

I reckon he's looked worse playing behind McClean. They don't compliment each other particularly well. Nemo, I think it was, pointed out that the way McClean plays negates a lot of the attacking threat you might get from Richardson. There's not really space for him to go on the outside. He's looked defensively suspect as well. I still like the lad, but think you could be right, may move on today. His versatility, ultimately, looks like costing him in a weird way.

Its very early days for their partnership. You have to give them time to work one another out. Richardson's poor going outside anyway- he should always be looking for the ball inside and going for the slipped pass. Either way, full-backs with pace are, I would've thought, important for playing the kind of counter-attacking football we're setting up for.

I have to say as well- I don't think, generally speaking, he's been poor in defence. In fact I've been pretty surprised at how well he's coped in that area. I was one who thought that little experiment by Bruce would never work. As long as Bridge stays as cover then it's fine by me.

Better having him than not

Surely ?

I'm not so sure they are. O'Neill has often used centre backs at full back and played counter attacking football. I'm thinking of Cuellar at right back for Villa as an example. He likes a solid, big, defensive back four, then a set of midfielders who are quick and can get the ball moving forward swiftly, with a target man to play off.

I'd be happy with Richardson at left back and Bridge as cover, or Bridge to play left back and Richardson to provide cover for any number of positions. The main reason I wanted to see Richardson get a run at left back was because I personally think Bardsley is awful in the position and he was a better option.

Fucks sake man hes a decent player, we need options on the left, what the fuck is the problem

The problem is we have too many Football Manager experts on here, who know sweet fuck all about proper football management.

Richardson will be an emergency striker after this deal...just in case the Davies etc doesnt come off..

There was always Shorey and Warnock who IIRC he signed, who were more mobile full-backs, Young as well wasn't just a lump. I suppose the point I'm making is that you'd hope that in attacking positions the full-backs are going to support the side with overlaps or 'under'-laps. Granted Bridge can cross a ball (or could?), but I have my doubts as to his suitability in this respect.

But we'll see. Silly to write him off before a ball is kicked. I can't quite work out his plans for Richardson if he stays and Bridge comes into the side, mind. Occasional respite for McClean? Tucked-in winger, like O'Neill played at Forest (RETRO)? Tea-boy?

Shorey's never been mobile marra. Great left peg but never quick.
