Rodgers has seen the light...........................................................................................................................and it blinded him.

He's a good player and he could offer the difference next year between being champions or being top four, even just off the bench.
In terms of sell on value fair enough, but then what was our sell on for the likes of gardner or gordon? Or would be for graham? Or john o shea? All five million plus players for us, and we are a fuck sight behind liverpool in the revenue stakes. Im sure they can absorb the hit.

weird signing, hope that frees Fabio up for coming home to us ;)

Not that I'm cynical or anything but the last paragraph of this article might give a clue as to why lambert is being sold for such a high amount

http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/3966295.BANK_ON_ADAM/

The Daily Echo has this week learned that the tribunal also made provision for Cherries to receive 25 per cent of any future transfer fee should Lallana leave Saints.

If this were the case then Southampton could sell Lallana to Liverpool for less money while keeping an inflated price on lambert so they still end up with the same net amount but just have to pay less to Bournemouth for lallana.

Cracking bit of asset stripping by Katherine Liebherr this summer. She planning a holiday on the International Space Station?

Nearly signed for us but went to the Gas Heads for more money.
Would have been a tidy follow on cash injection.
That mind you is way over the top for an old type centre forward.

He'll be a good back up option

The fee is surely related to the Lallana deal too with Southampton avoiding having to pay Bournemouth as much money

How old is Lambert?

31 mate.

I'd av took him like.

Quality player imho.

75 prem games, 28 goals.

personally I think that's a good return for someone playing at this level for the first time at 29.

the bottom half of the prem would all have been in for him.
