"Sports" that shouldn't be olympic sports.

Fuck off man - every child in this country has access to a dressage horse, stables, vets, tack, a 4x4, a hoss box and a specialist hoss trainer
Most sports have a degree of what you refer to, just not as extreme. If you think of something like swimming, you don't need much specialist gear, but the sacrifices that family have to make from a very early age would prevent an awful lot of potentially good swimmers from reaching their potential.

Just been watching some of the handball on Eurosport. The goalkeepers must be the least skilled people in any sport. You never see them make a save and all they do is pick the ball out of the net.

The 1900 games in Paris look like they were fun. Some events that were included as unofficial non-olympic events were pigeon racing, pigeon shooting (not sure if these took place concurrently), angling and ballooning.
All of them more sensible than that synchronised swimming like

Mind maybe it’s just me but BBCs coverage of the olympics has been a shadow of its former self. Absolutely bollocks at time.

yesterday they were waxing lyrical about someone having 4.3 Instagram followers.
Discovery have the main rights and the BBC get what they are allowed. 2032 will be the last time they are free to air.

If professional football was judged on artistic impression most of it would be lucky to get 2•75 out of 10.

They do the occasional star jump.

You get on a horse and try to make it dance!
Brain surgery is fairly tricky I understand but hardly an Olympic worthy 'sport'.

This! Dancing horses FFS!

I upset a lot of people on here a while ago by suggesting the commentators were talking a load of nonsense when they said the horses were loving it. It's not a sport and it's cruel and I'm far from an animal right's activist. Should be banned.
I did write about it in a slightly more light hearted fashion back in 2016.

Handball is huge in some countries. I can't fathom why. Its a ridiculous sport. A complete joke.

I was watching the surfing earlier, or was I? Just saw a bloke getting smashed by waves for 5 mins then when I came back to it a minute later someone had won.

Wonder if Dastardly and Mutley took the gold.
Would be chaos with modern standards of drug testing.

The beauty of the olympics is the mad amount of different sports you can watch, that you will probably have zero interest in after the games. Don't mind some more non traditional stuff like Skateboarding being hoyed in there.

Football shouldn't be an olympic sport for me though, pointless. And agree with the posh twats pratting about on a horse being shite too.

Never understand why they have medals for all the different swimming strokes, fastest competitor over the distance wins, FFS if a shark was chasing you who would swim backstroke

Aye, there's plenty ways to move on your feet, but they don't do a backwards running, skipping or hopping race.
Makes no sense at all

Love the idea of the racing and the shooting of Pigeons taking place at the same time.

Even more annoying is that they call front crawl 'freestyle' as if there's a choice in which is the fastest stroke.
