Spennymoor and Tow Law?

The worst thing about Spenny Town is not (only) that they play in black and white stripes, run out to Local Hero, the Paul Kitson connection etc., and that they clearly do see themselves as a mag club in County Durham, but that they are also the MK Dons of Northern non-league football.

In 2005 Spennymoor United went bust and mysteriously in the close season they "merged" with Evenwood Town, but dropped any name connection with Evenwood (apart from the town bit), moved them to Brewery Field, started playing in black and white stripes etc. They're an all round dislikeable club imho. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spennymoor_Town_F.C.

This.

You might be surprised to hear this, but they are different football clubs to both Newcastle and Sunderland and are unlikely to have considered the wear/Tyne derby when choosing their strips.
