Spot-on mate. These signings are going to give us some insight into whether this lot are bullshit merchants like the previous.
I feel for Johnson mind. He memtioned the need for six players a couple of weeks back and not one has arrived.
Had a feeling all along that Speakman will be found out to be full of guff. He's got three weeks. If he's true to his word and by the window ends we've brought in the quality then I'll hold my hands up. Won't hold my breath mind.

Same here mate. As I say, our Manager mentioned 6 players required a couple of weeks back and we've brought none in ahead of the start of the season. He works with them every day and so knows exactly what is required, no amount of Speakman's "quality over quantity" flannel is going to cover that.
Now, if we do bring in say, 4 quality players, I'll hold my hands up like yourself.

Why do people go to watch football? Would you go tho the cinema to watch crap films in the hope that in five year’s time they will show better. People have lost track of what entertainment is all about. We are not all masochists.

Not sure what your point is at all here mind.

My post pointed out that Brentford had a poor start "results wise" under their manager. But performances were deemed to be good and the stats were backing that up as well so they were confident results were going to come back to reflect what was happening.

But hey, its all just like the Movie business isn't it. Yep. Get Dwayne Johnson in as manager.

Huge season coming up, massive. I'm not a fan of the gaffer but he needs to be given the tools to do his job, if he is I think he will put out a good side.

I also think some of our own lads who are finally in and around the first team will pull him out of the mire, we have some good players waiting a chance.

We need a real threat up top.
Oh really ?? So he didn't have the tools at his disposal with 9 games to go last season then ??

To be honest marra, that total capitulation last season made my mind up for me.
Don't think the man's capable .

Aye was a sickener, we looked nailed on.

I'm looking forward to this season mainly because I hope we will be giving a chance to some of our own (even by necessity), and every season you hope the penny will drop with the gaffers.

The manager / coach should be able to get us out of league 1, we will see mate.

He didnt, we had a make shift defence, we didnt have any fit centre half's.
Now here we are starting the season without specialist full backs, not makeshift midfielders filling in.
5 games to play in August, 15 points to play for. If we are serious about going up and setting the pace, we need to be looking at 12 points from the 15. Hard when you are not at full strength.

I’m writing off this season in terms of evaluating the recruitment team. Hastily put together at the back end of the season and haven’t had the time to prepare for the window they’d have liked. I still think it’s the right approach and it will never work if we just panic and sack everyone in less than a year.

I would much rather sign no one and take a chance on the likes of dyce than sign a de bock or billy jones.

There are a few cracks or warning signs starting to show though.

Trust me…. It’s not time.
It’s expectations not meeting reality.
The players we want do not correlate with the budget we have. It’s akin to having a limited budget but still shopping for luxury cars.

Any signings we do make between now and the end of the window will be premier League loans imo.

aye logically that would explain the delay as they are all playing pre season due to the euros

They had 2 lists prepared at the end of last season.

You are just making excuses for them
