Speakman’s transfer strategy backfired already

Frankly, I don't give a fuck,

Wow, your true colours are really shining through aren’t they.

You defend the club, and think you are correct as always. You get proven wrong, and despite others giving you the courtesy of answering you and discussing your point, you would rather come across as a total arse than acknowledge, maybe just maybe you may be wrong.

Instead despite your delusions of grandeur you come across like a Big Baby and the toys are out the pram instead of being an adult and actually using the forum for its purpose. I’ll give you a hint, it’s not to defend at every opportunity, it’s for debate and discussion.

You've won the argument and got the usual response off some on here 👍

2.5 mill paid in installments and a massive buy back option for clarke and ballard free transfer. The rest will also be peanuts, loans and frees. Spin whatever you want but it was an atrocious transfer window, again leaving us short all over the pitch.
Ballard was not a free transfer . Burnley were reported to have agreed a fee of 2M . Would have been some negotiating, for us to have then landed him for free.

We’re short in two positions by my viewing, possibly 3, I imagine we’ll finish higher than any newly promoted side have ever done bar one in the last 15 years.

You’re actually being ridiculous
A short story.....

Last try. How did we convince Stewart to sign knowing he wouldn't be first choice if you can't sign players who aren't going to be first choice?

Stewart was 23? At the time? Had only ever played in Scotland for Ross County. You don’t get many of them. We’ve had two in about 30 years.

Super Kev was the first

The negativity on here is ridiculous and scary.

We've lost our best striker. I'm unsure what people want? Kaz Sterling as the other option? He was a f***ing class backup a few year back.

We'll either change to a 4-5-1 or a 4-3-3, don't really see why everyone is spitting their dummies out. I assume they've had a few too many shandys.
I'm certain we played a 4-3-3/4-5-1 for the latter part of last season.

A man who defended Donald and Metvhen to the hilt, wouldn’t even admit to himself that they were wrong uns, even when it was confirmed they never ever intended to pay back the £20m they took out, a man who if you question his beliefs, he blanks you, that in my book is a bully, but he was an accountant so he thinks knows better than all of us.

One defeat and all of a sudden an " atrocious window " . Every single club in the league has a successful window until the season starts. Every single club in the league is unbeaten in the close season. Young players from PL academies are talked up as the next big thing and if they make a few mistakes it is at first overlooked on the basis that they will learn and only get better. We are one of many clubs scrambling for untried, unproven talent. A lot of it is guesswork and gamble.

I'm certain we played a 4-3-3/4-5-1 for the latter part of last season.

We did, sometimes more of a 3-4-2-1

Was usually Stewart up on his own though. If he’s injured during the run in? Yeah we’d have been fucked.

Now he’s probably going to miss a few games and we’ve a lad who he’s been playing with who’s unproven, but looks decent.

Best we could’ve hoped for though. Aside signing someone and wasted a wage on a lad to sit and wait for an opportunity.

Any team in this league would miss Ross Stewart, he’s quite possibly the best centre forward in the division. Irreplaceable but we’ve had a canny go at it with Simms.

Roberts, Pritchard, Embleton, Dajaku, Diallo - need to step up to the plate.

I used to massively respect him, but slowly I’ve seen more and more defending the indefensible, especially with the old regime.

I also slowly seen a lot of the board starting to turn. What I’ve seen tonight, has now completely swayed my opinion. As I said I’ve absolutely seen the true colours shine through. 100% thinks he’s better than the vast majority of us, and knows more.

Refuses to acknowledge, debate or even answer a question if it would mean he may be wrong, and to top it off the absolute irony of then acting like this and throwing the toys out the pram.

Grumpy old man, I’m sorry but it comes across entitled young child to me.

Criminal not bringing a proper striker in . Simms has looked poor also last few games. All this talk of x and y can play up front… Well there is your answer tonight. Where is the new signings? Just one on the bench. Maybe mowbray doesn’t rate them? Maybe they aren’t ready yet but we can’t just build a club on buying young players to sell on. Hopefully just an off night. Whole team was poor. If we are going to look to sell players for profit dan neil should be the first out the door. Heart the size of a pea. Can’t tackle , doesn’t score goals- awful. Embleton not much better. How many shite balls does he put in the box.

We do have a cracking team of players. It’s just we won’t get to see it till about 2029. In the meantime I don’t know what we are meant to do. Wait patiently and happily put every bad game down to inexperienced players and newness to the league.

If Ballars was a free transfer when weeks earlier Burnley were paying 2m for him then surely it was a great window and we have magicians doing the negotiation.

Dont think anyone is at their best after a defeat nor is it the best time for a debate.

Not at all….I understand we’d struggle to sign someone the level of Stewart (however you never know, when we signed him nobody expected him to be as good as he is).

The issue is that we play with 2 up front. We have 2 senior strikers at the club. A last minute injury tonight has thrown our entire game plan (everything we’ve worked on for 3 or 4 days were Mowbray’s words) simply because we don’t have another striker at the club.

I’m not saying to just chuck anyone in, and I’m not expecting any signing to offer us exactly what Stewart does, however it’s poor that we have 2 senior strikers at the club.

The manager wanted to play with 2 strikers tonight - he was unable to because the recruitment team have let him down.
I don't think we will play

We're short only at left back. Where else are we short?

Why post this and caveat it with that.

We were all happy with mid table before we kicked a ball. Guess what mid table means you lose as much as you win.

We're currently still 8th only 4 points off automatic. Hardly a disastrous start to season and doesn't mean anything has backfired as we've still got 38 games to go.
