Speakman’s transfer strategy backfired already

There's some absolute nuggets on this board mind, won't have anything negative at all said about the club..even when it's staring everyone else in the face with half a brain cell that we're doing things on a shoe string.

We have just come up from Division one, what exactly were you expecting?

So who was going to come in? Come on, name names. And don't hide behind the pathetic "It's not my job".

It’s a fact though, it isn’t my job.

Players sign for clubs and have done for years. It’s called rotation, do you honestly think there’s nobody we could have gone for who would have looked and thought “yeah I’d back myself to get in that team against Simms”. Load of shite man.

It’s football, did Broadhead go to Wigan thinking he’d be first choice? Did bass sign for us? Weird that, we already have a good keeper, why the fuck would he come here to be second choice!!

Loads of people! Whoever we signed would be on the bench and would get game time. Stewart would probably love a rest in games. Last time we won this league under keane we had connolly, stokes, stern john, murphy etc under bruce we had bent, wellbeck, campbell and gyan! Under reid we had quinn, Phillips, bridges and dichio!

The problem you've got is signing someone who's happy to come knowing they won't play unless Stewart or Simms are out.

Total cop out.

Criminal not bringing a proper striker in . Simms has looked poor also last few games. All this talk of x and y can play up front… Well there is your answer tonight. Where is the new signings? Just one on the bench. Maybe mowbray doesn’t rate them? Maybe they aren’t ready yet but we can’t just build a club on buying young players to sell on. Hopefully just an off night. Whole team was poor. If we are going to look to sell players for profit dan neil should be the first out the door. Heart the size of a pea. Can’t tackle , doesn’t score goals- awful. Embleton not much better. How many shite balls does he put in the box.

We lost 1.0 away from home, have some balls ffs!

Devastating shortage of names there. Admit it, they wouldn't be anywhere near.

😂😂 lovely, so you just ignore my two questions yeah.

Do players only go to clubs to be first choice do they? Do players only go to clubs if they don’t have a player in that position already? Did we sign a keeper this season despite already having two on the books?

Last season did we have 3 strikers despite only playing one up top? Jesus what magical powers made defoe and Broadhead sign when we had Stewart, it’s amazing, absolute sorcery, we only played one up front yet others signed 😳😳. What a revolution that must have been.

Might aswell do without then if that's the case, just hope for the best like the club seem to have took a gamble on
Surely the point of the reserves is to have players step up when needed. Why bring in a third rate third striker to sit on the bench when we can give a young 'un from the reserves a chance to prove himself.

Probably worth pointing out that when Stewart came here it wasn't as "first choice" either

It’s incredible how much the clubs buzzword bullshit PR machine has brainwashed some supporters.

“Nobody would want to come here and sit on the bench”.

How many of the 92 league clubs have no reserve strikers whatsoever in their squad?
Mark, I know you’re highly strung, but we tried to get strikers in. It’s our first season in the champ after 4 in league 1.
Maybe rather than get a striker in who was shit we thought we’d save the money.
We’d have to buy one as doubt a premier team would lend one to be 3rd choice.
People aren’t brainwashed , we’re just not panicking and a bit more level headed, have a better sense of perspective and don’t expect us to spend loads of cash and get into debt so we’re fucked in a couple of seasons and can’t improve the team further

To have a back up player to the one who our entire game plan revolves around would have been nice
It is a team game and shouldn’t be all about one man. Let’s see how it pans out before being over critical. If we struggle for goals/points in the next half a dozen games or so I will be the first to hold my hands up and say I was wrong
