Aye, it's the initial pull.Are you saying it trips with JUST the transformer plugged in.?
if its with the table saw or similar then it may be a single phase motor without an inverter and the starting current is tripping the 16a breaker. Can you get somebldy to put an ammeter on and see what current it drawing plugged into the house

Technically changing the mcb type is changing the circuit’s characteristics and it could be classed as notifiable.Not done much electrical work lately, but a Type D MCB would be better than B/C I'd imagine...
