Southgate confirmed to stay.

Should the England manager be English? I can definitely see the argument for it and the pathway it shows

So high then. How does it compare against your favourites?

My favourites? What are you going on about.

Has Southgate shown anything to you that he can actually get it over the line and win a tournament? Apart from Germany in 21 when have we went into a game against top historic opposition and won? That includes all the other managers before him too.

Kane scores that pen and there's a good chance we'd be playing in the World Cup final tomorrow. I'll take that over getting dumped out in the second round by Iceland, which is the situation Southagte inherited.
But he didn't, we should have went for it but he puts on Mount and Sterling taking off Saka and the rest is history

We won our first game 6-2.

So nothing to do with "momentum" then? Make your mind up. FFS. You have no idea.

I do have an idea. I've been to a lot of England games this year so seen how poor they were heading into the tournament.

And yes we won our first game 6-2. What happened next? We drew 0-0 with an average USA team. Beat two more poor opponents then failed a big test yet again.

The irony is your slagging me off for apparently not having an idea but you havent given any suggestion as to why Southgate is the person to get England over the line and actually win something.

Which of your favourites for the job have a better record? It's a simple question FFS

As England manager or a manager in general?

Surely that argument is skewed as most of opposition we play in qualifying and friendlies are very low ranked? Luckily it isn’t my job to choose the next manager - that’s the people at the FA. I think it’s pretty obvious that Southgate is a great bloke but when it comes to crunch we can’t get it over the line.

If the Nations League doesn't count then all those qualifiers against the likes of San Marino etc dont count

The mentality of saying matches don't matter is staggering

So was the 0-0 against the mighty USA.
Both Iran and the USA were ranked higher than Morocco tbf

So "momentum" has gone out of the window then? That changed quickly.

Southgate has the best record since Ramsey and was a Kane penalty away from the semi. All you have is woffle. The usual "sack the manager" knee-jerk when something goes wrong. Ramsey was close to being sacked before 1966. That ended well.

There's always someone who knows exactly what's wrong and screams about it. But when asked about the solution they hide away.

If you don't know enough to suggest the next manager you certainly don't know enough to criticise the current manager.

"He has the best record" "We were a Kane penalty away from the semi"

He has won nothing. We were in front against Croatia. We failed. We were in front against Italy at home. We failed. We've gone from the Nations League finals to being relegated in less than three years. And one penalty away from the semi final? You do realise it would have made it 2-2 and not the actual winner.

If you are happy with the same cycle of qualifying easily then winning against poor teams before losing the big tests then by all means you accept it. But just like the last "golden generation" if we don't win it when it really matters then its still harping on about 1966.

Can you please tell me what it is that suggests he has what it takes to actually win a tournament

he's the best manager around who is guaranteed not to win anything.
He was conflicted you know,He did think about resigning for about two seconds and perhaps doing a new Pizza ad with Harry.
Then reality kicked in that only the English FA would be daft enough to employ him on an excellent salary as a reward for reaching the quarter finals and going backwards.
I think he knows that there isn't any football club that would touch him with a barge pole
