Re: We're all standing on Saturday right?

Singing not standing.

Why is it so difficult?

utter madness.. hope you're just making a point here and haven't actually been daft enough to assume your choir voice would be needed in such and area of the stadium..

it's the one subject that is absolutely guaranteed to spark a reaction from a good few members which is why I'm not believing these "ignorant" types who are adamant they'll be sat in the south stand.

In fact I'm stunned Spug went down the line of backing the standers rather than winding us up.

Re: We're all standing on Saturday right?

Missed it - a link would be nice showing the club has OK'd tho'
Alternately:

Irresponsible, selfish morons.

If you're standing while I'm sitting behind you with my father WHO CAN'T STAND for more than 10 mins unaided, I will ask you nicely to be seated.

If that doesn't work I will call a steward.

If that fails I will twat ya - and we'll all have to leave me aiding my old man.

That should get something sorted one way or another for the next home game

:lol::lol::lol: sure you will dear, why take your oldman there anyway if you know he cant stand? it appears youve been the inconsiderate one here marra

He won't even have a ticket for the game man. And if he did have one he'd be in the East stand with his packet of werther's originals.

I remember an incident , some lad standing gan off it, coppers and stewards come over and tell him to sit down, everyone starts singing "stand up if you hate the mags". I'm sure this incident happens alof, what can they do??? Nowt.

Spug is also a massive bellend who appears to find himself funny.

they'll just make examples of a few like they do every week. If they want to enforce the rules then it's discrimination to randomly eject 1 or 2 and should eject EVERYONE. Already reported them to the FSF for this and they're now well aware of the new singing section.

If the club want the fans in the south stand to create a loud, vibrant, cauldron of noise then they are going to have to be relaxed with regards to standing.

Standing and chanting work hand in hand. I think the club will appreciate this and let the fans roar the lads on for the full 90. Fans like GK need not apply.

Hope everyone that wants to stand in the south stand is able to do so unmolested by the stewards. Our ground is big enough to accommodate all fans who want to stand/sit.

Standing isn't advertised there. Not saying a blind eye won't be cast, but its not overtly advertised as "standing".

South STAND singing section haha am taking that as they want us to stand ;)

Exactly, the club aren't daft. They want an area with an atmosphere and will be well aware that this will mean people standing (they saw that in the SWC). Of course their official line will be "no, not us, we won't let people stand", they couldn't exactly go calling it the standing section but they know it'll happen and if it improves the atmosphere they won't give a fuck (much though they'll need to sound as if they do). I doubt it'll be 90 minutes of non stop standing and singing like but the majority of the time people will be stood I'd imagine

There's going to be trouble in that stand this season seeing as a lot of folk who've moved there probably won't have the intention of standing for 90 minutes.

...This ...the main motivation of most fans moving from the North Stand was to remain situated in the home end away from the away fans and have the team attack towards them for the 2nd half....

There's a basic misconception here on this board ..The vast majority of Sunderland fans wouldn't even think of standing for a whole game in an all seated stadium (at the SOL anyway I accept there's a different mentality for away games) I've mentioned the concept of standing all game to many long standing SAFC season ticket holders of varying ages and most felt standing throughout a game was simply "daft" when they had the option of a seat.

The singing section may generally wish to stand but not the parents in the family enclosure or the "new" oldies in the SW Corner .

And the rules aren't made by SAFC or our over zealous stewards but by the Premier League ....we'd risk not getting a safety certificate if standing was blatantly ignored and tacitly agreed with the club even if Ellis Short is (unofficially) broadly in favour of some standing being allowed ....again whatever the SMB may indicate in the real world most fans would be terrified of being chucked out and risk having their season ticket cancelled.

Note how savage the cuts in the amount of tickets Man U have been given for our match in recent seasons because of their refusal to compromise and sit.

But I guess we'll all see who's called it right on Saturday anyway!
