Sony a390 remote shutter cord

I have had 2 of these delivered and they dont fit, please can somebody clarify the cord gets put in the dc-in section?

cant see where else it would go ffs!!

have you tried using a cordless one? works by infra red, i use one that cost about £3 off ebay and its great, also have a couple of cheap corded ones that work fine too, were actually left over from my a200 but work on my a500 no probs.
 
I don't know about the 390, but on the 200 there is another port right next to the DC in which is labelled 'remote'.

Edit....just had a butchers at the 390 instruction manual and I can't see the port labelled anywhere. It should be a rectangular shape with three pins in a line along the centre.
 
i have a remote but u have to be in front of the camera for it to go off as it is infra red.

in the dc-in part it has 1 port which doesnt fit any of the 2 cords (even though they were advertised to)
