Why should we support him? We don't even know him other than as a player and this is not the same as supporting him on the pitch.

Don't take this the wrong way I hope it's all rubbish but I think unless your his friend or family it's better to stay out of it all together and let the process take it's course.

maybe cos he's not been convicted of anything????

"There's only one Adam Johnson"

That's a good joke, obviously playing on the fact that there was another Adam Johnson who was getting abused on twitter

I'm well aware of that but I don't see what difference it makes, this is for Adam and his family to deal with now.

Obviously people are jumping in to condemn him or support him but both are wrong in my opinion.

I'd hate to be one of your mates

Why wouldn't we support him. He is our player. A Sunderland fan. He isn't guilty of anything yet. Until and if he is found guilty then we will and should support him.
Under the circumstances and the nature of the allegations I think you are completely wrong. He hasn't been charged yet but it doesn't good for him. By far the best thing to do is to keep quiet and support the players on the pitch.

Oh sorry, you're Adam's mate, well that's fair enough you should support him.

I'm not sure reminding the players on the pitch about what's going on when they need to concentrate on the game is the best idea either.

This is the right thing to do. To protect the player and club from adverse publicity. You need to wind your neck in. Until a jury passes a guilty verdict on the lad he is NOT guilty. Well done to the fans who showed their support tonight.
Unless you know him personally why support him? You don't f***ing know him.

Also he he's been released on bail without charge as yet so done nothing wrong so far

Not to mention his name has been dragged through the mud and he is suspended by the club. If he is prices guilty in a court then throw the book at him. But, for fuck's sake, if this proves to be a cry wolf then lock that woman up.

Thanks I will

He's a footballer. He wasn't playing.

Therefore singing songs about him is strange in such a situation

Innocent til proven guilty of course. But we don't support someone in such an accusation because they play for our team

Didn't sing myself, but didn't have a problem with the "One Adam Johnson" chant.

However, there was a group of about twenty 16-18 y/o bellends singing two chants under the stand before the game that have no place in our support.

Its really not, its a topical subject and certain fans want to show him support
