My sister has a cottage right next to the CB pub and the Red Lion (I think that's what it's called) is a short walk up to Langthwaite.

Finally got the campervan back on the road and want to go away tomorrow in it - any recommendations for a village nearby with a couple of decent pubs? Just going to park it in a street and kip overnight in it...

I'm probably too late on this thread but if not, try Reeth. 45 minutes away near Richmond , tiny place with a couple of pubs and a tea shop.

Dufton near Appleby. Nice village, only one pub, but always had good food and beer. Then go for a walk up High Cup Nick at dusk for a beautiful sunset over the lakes.
