Surely if you just park it in a street then go to the pub, you are at risk of being asked by the police to move on and would be over the limit? Seems a very risky strategy to me.

What is the speed and range of your camper van?

60mph tops. Just had a new engine in though so gets there quicker.
Range can be anything - took it to Croatia last year but not looking to go as far tomorrow.
