Somerset Vs Durham - 10th August 2022 RLODC

Yes & no. Just looking at the bowling figures & again some bemusing choices. Borthwick 6 overs at 9.5 an over, yet he didn't bowl Trevaskis out who went at 5 an over and to his credit Maddinson went at 5.5 bowling 2 overs... So I'm still concerned with some of the bowling choices as I have been the previous two games. Overall it's a much needed win for the whole club & keeps this competition interesting in what has been a very poor season. Some of the younger lads will feel better for that winning feeling and hopefully we can push on Friday now. I'd still like to see Doneathy involved. Safe trip home to the lads.
Why is Doneathy not involved after his performances last year?

I'll put my hand up and admit I have never thought Borthwick was a good bowler, but I have thought he was an improving one and would eventually become better with experience. I doubt that now, I'd much rather he concentrated on batting.

He was very good in whiteball before he left. Moving to get more of a bowl in hindsight maybe should've gone somewhere that didn't have 3 spinners ahead of him

He played the last game. Dropped as coughlin returned, coughlin has been so poor since returning. The games he's played his bowling has been very expensive and full of extras

Looked at the score a couple of times but didn’t watch.
Despite the score every time I. Looked they appeared to be gaining ground at apace.
Was worried and expected that Durham would conjure defeat out of the hands Of victory.
Pleased it didn’t happen and now hoping for Sunderland to win to have a Wear Side double up

Just come in and playing catch up.Thereby can't really comment on today's game other than saying well done for the win 👍 However I'm baffled as to where my comment regarding Doneathy,Maddinson and etc has gone.😉 Hopefully not under the Trapdoor Stand 🤔 I await any answers with baited breath 🙄

Cruising to an easy victory but some poor bowling and a top innings from Green almost let Somerset in. Made for an exciting finish though. Would have settled for that result before the start.

This game reinforced my belief in the 50 over format as probably my favourite. There is time in 100 overs for twists and turns, for collapses and recoveries, for brilliant finishes. This one had it all. It’s tragic that there is so little time allotted to it in the schedule. There’s not even a second eleven competition any more, and all the “big boys” are away at the hundred during August which is why almost nobody in the current England squad has played 50 over cricket for the last few years. It would be a tragic loss if allowed to disappear.

Agree.

The two interesting formats are the ones most under pressure. Makes you want to spit.
