He left because he thought he should start in the 1st team.....not because of Solskjaer.
Maybe solskjaer as reserve team manager, was not pushing his case enough?

It’s a bit Micky mouse of Man Utd this. I’m open to be proved totally wrong but can’t see Man Utd getting real progress with this move

Why not Neville? Similar failure as a manager like solskjaer.

Not necessarily. They lose four in a row, I don’t think old Trafford will be rocking cause an ex player is manager

I didn't suggest it was going to be rocking because of Solskjaer. It won't be because as already mentioned, their season is already over and expectations are at the lowest they've been in a long time.

It will lift the mood around the players and fans right now though.

Say Sunderland are in 7th place in Dec., look like shit, and are far off the top four. The manager is sacked, and it is announced a care taker will take over until the summer.

Would you take Gary Bennett, Marco Gabbiadini, or Kevin Phillips as caretaker if they had a similar managerial/coaching CV to Ole (but say a League One team instead of Molde)? That's basically what United have done.

I know Sunderland and United aren't at the same expectations level, but I'm curious.

No. Always feared an appointment like that as it would tarnish their reputation with the club and all they achieved.

A recognised failure? Bit harsh. He had a mare at Cardiff but fair to say the odds were stacked against him. Difficult to put his success in Norway into much context or his managerial career to date for that matter. Fergie knows his credentials as well as anybody though and it’s clear he has had a big hand in this. Will be interesting to see what happens but I’m quite surprised so many are writing it off as stupidity. A bit left field perhaps but what’s to lose?

Ferguson chose Moyes.

Paul Pogba responded to Jose Mourinho’s sacking by shouting ‘he fucked up with the wrong baller’, according to reports.

Most overrated player in the premier league summing up what is wrong with modern day footballers.

From what’s been said aye he goes back to Molde
I think you're wrong mate. Official club website says he's been appointed until the end of the 2018/2019 season. Their season will probably be over by March  but I don't think that's what they mean.

Molde have given manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer their blessing to take the Manchester United job on a temporary basis before he returns to his permanent post in Norway.

Ex-United striker Solskjaer has been confirmed as Jose Mourinho's successor on a caretaker basis until the end of the 2018-19 season.

At that point, the 45-year-old Norwegian will return to Molde, with whom he signed a new contract until 2021 only 16 days ago.

The Eliteserien campaign begins in March, so Erling Moe will take charge of Molde until Solskjaer returns from what is effectively a managerial loan to Old Trafford.

Molde released a statement on the unique situation on their website on Wednesday, shortly after Solskjaer's appointment at United was confirmed.

They are trying to cling on to something that really isn't there anymore. The Ferguson time has gone - there is no such thing as the MUFC ethos. When the individuals have gone that perpetuated the style etc it is time for a new man and move on. Remember the good times but look forward not back.
