Sol Campbell backs winding up order against Macclesfield

I suspect that if you were not white you wouldn't be anywhere near as upset by this, like me.

If I was not white I'd be even more upset by being branded a racist by Sol Campbell's imaginary bullshit. The bloke has been proven to be a liar and should of been taken to task over it. The same as Bruce with his bullshit about police escorts home and the whole of the SOL against him for being a geordie.

Theres not a chance he'll be personally owed that much. He was in charge for less than 9 months. That's 20k a month, assuming he hasn't been paid at all. I doubt any League 2 club is paying any manager that amount nevermind one of the smallest clubs in that league.

Might have had a canny bonus for keeping them in the league when all hope was lost possibly? For all I don't like Campbell he like the rest of the employees should have been paid and it's the owners who are at fault, though Sol going public like this will obviously get people's backs up and it's nowt to do with the colour of his skin!

How could his lawyer have informed the judge of Campbell's wishes at the court case without going public?

Possibly aye...they looked dead certs for the drop when he came in.

I wonder if the owner really does want to sell, the club has lost only 6 games and while they have small attendance perfect rebuild of the club could be completed, does anyone know to how much debt they are in?
I think there is something big happening behind the scenes. I hear someone in the top 25 on the Forbes rich list may be looking to takeover. Cant say much more but it rhymes will swell.

Just a shame if the club were to go as they hardly owe anything compared to other clubs who are or went bust, owner should pay up and offload to supporters trust...

If he can. It's well known that HMRC are sick and tired of football clubs effectively using them as bankers by paying everyone else in preference to them. So they use a winding up order as the legal equivalent of a bunch of hard men with baseball barts. Whether this changes next year when they become preferential creditors again (that is, they get paid before anyone else in an administration) remains to be seen.

I think what he has done is disgraceful...yes he deserves the money to be repaid back to him( 180 thousand ) but he is basically putting another nail in the coffin of the club..if I was a multi millionaire like him...I would declare I want the admin staff/ people behind the scenes paying first...

The admin staff and other employees will be paid before creditors, but they need the big creditors to vote for a winding up order to start the process. Am i missing something here?

He left by "mutual consent" in the summer. I suspect he is chasing them for the length of his original contract plus costs, even though he's back in employment. Doesn't he have form for chasing skint clubs for monies owed (Pompey)?

If he was hired at 20K a month and hasn't been paid, then more fool Macclesfield for paying such a daft salary. If he's chasing money for a time he hasn't even worked for them, then I'll stand with the "Greedy Tory Bastard" brigade.
