Please explain a 5 to the SMB?

Isn't the results on the pitch down to the players/management team? I understand that the new owners brought in the manager and ultimately the players, but blaming the owner(s) for the results on the pitch is exactly what those up the road from us do.

9.5/10 for me. Can't think of anything they've done wrong other than the odd media comments.

As for 'On the pitch', I'm very happy with where we are now.
Spot on love your comments I feel they have address the elephants in the room. Still some high earners left but a least they give everything they have to the club. I hope they continue to take the ship in the right direction 9.5/10

in many ways im a fan but its too early to judge it...promotion this season plus growing revenue are the measures

Well growing revenue or shifting deadwood has the same effect - and boy have they shifted the deadwood - just about every single squad member is now desperate to play on a Saturday.
That is one hell of a difference.

Without the wages of Catts and Ovideo (who we won't keep next year if we don't go up ) we'd be very close to breakeven already.

We were in £150m hole with expenses massively outstripping income and no-one wanted to play for us.

No we are basically debt-free and self-supporting (with an extra £20m - the final parachute payment - to look forward to next year) and with a young keen team we are all happy to get behind.

9.5/10 for me.

I think an underrated element to their tenure so far is accepting bids for McNair and Asoro. I’m not saying they’re amazing bits of business because a couple of years down the line, they both might turn out to be Premier League players. But the money we got for them bearing in mind our situation (relegation) and their situation (injuries/lack of form) is pretty good.

Mind I’d like to view how they’d have done in League 1 in some alternate universe.

It’s now all about getting contracts sorted, signing a couple of lads in January and then getting promotion.

The new ownership out of 10 so far? 9/10 for me. I bet the moaners are gutted and just lurking ready to pounce :)
10/10 - absolutely brilliant. Lifted the club off it's knees and gave the club back to the fans. Constant communication, changing the seats, being honest about our strategy and our financial situation, hired a bright, young manager and invigorated the squad with some quality signings. Still lots to do, but what they have done soe far has been excellent.

That gives a 74% approval rating at present.

Love the way they have cleansed the club, don’t like the way they are pushing and pushing people to go. I will quantify that by saying, if Sunderland show they are trying and win games, the fans turn up and it doesn’t take someone to beat a drum.

They're from darn sarf, give them time.

Only thing preventing a 10/10 is a lack of spend on players. Feel we'd be top with two extra league one quality signings. But overall they've done exceptionally well

Harsh. We have recruited as well as we could have given the timescales and the financial situation. Not sure if you were expecting us to sign players for £4/5m but that doesn't happen in League 1
Dint care... we've signed a few players who look decent at this level, and a few that look crap. The financial situation is that no matter how they dress it up the owners are either not willing enough or they're not wealthy enough to do better in the transfer market, and that leaves something to be desired. They've done just ok... 6 out of 10 for me.
