Smith not Robinson to keep wicket

Yeah not at all surprised at how Smith has done.

Just felt sorry for Robinson.
I remember a few years ago at a Members Meeting Alec Stewart said we had a WK coming through who was gonna be better than Ben Foakes, and we all thought it was just hyperbole, but he genuinely is the real McCoy.

I think Robinson is just unlucky to exist in this era where we seem to have a stock full of decent options behind the stumps (though for me, he's certainly the next cab off the rank).

I think Robinson could bat anywhere from 3-7.

So I guess he's just got to keep scoring runs and then if someone can't play for whatever reason makes himself the best chance of filling in for them.

But looks like Lawrence has that spot as the backup batsman. I'd hope they pick Robinson in the squad too for Pakistan.

Great ton from Smith, unlike Buttler who started off really well. In this setup I can't see how Smith falls away like Jos did.

I think his game looks like it will work against better attacks in different conditions too.

They’ve shown they don’t necessarily care for who’s the better glove man, so the fact Cox seems to be the next in line batter after Lawrence probably nudges him forward in the WK order too id have thought.
