  2. Seems to me she tried to force her way in like all Audi drivers do. If you don't meekly stand aside they push their way in.

it was perfectly safe if the van driver had followed recommended rules.

It doesn't matter if she shouldn't have been in the position or not. It's how she acted once she was in that position.

Everyone will be placed in situations on the road that they shouldn't be in, That's part of driving.

It was not safe for her to continue her move into that lane and as such she should have waited until it was.

anyway, it's friday and I'm starting to sound like @Frijj so I'm gonna leave it there, don't think I can add anything further to what I've tried to point out.

but he didn't. Thereby she should have stopped her move until it was safe.

You were wrong yesterday and you're still wrong today. ;)

Shouldn't matter, she should wait to be let into the lane that is full, SHE is merging into it. Nobody is fucking off anyone in the outter lane, they are taking turns (apart from this silly bint). How many cars should be let in by this one van before others behind get fucked off with him? Should HE stop at the end and let all the cars in the outside lane in stopping traffic flow?

Shouldn't matter how many cars the outside lane driver has seen be let in. They shouldn't just assume anything and should wait to be let in.

She'll have knocked the indicator whilst furiously waving her arms about during her hissy fit. That's the only explanation.

Everyone knows they make you swear an oath never to signal when you sign on the dotted line for an audi or beemer....

Well this has provoked a lively ruckus!
It is possible to use both lanes AND merge in turn. I think that is what the Highway Code means us to do.
If you're in the lane that is disappearing, match your speed to the other lane and when you get near the cones just indicate with 20yards to spare and you should be let in, because you have been travelling at the same speed as vehicles in the other lane. Make eye contact if you can. Only totally over-entitled fuckwits like yer woman have a problem with this. They are the same people who charge up the last 200 yards of empty lane and barge in. They have the mentality of being in a race, rather than operating a traffic system and it pisses people off.
If there is a long stretch of empty lane, just match your speed and the traffic in the other lane, which now does not have to merge, will speed up. I sometimes get hooted at from cars around me (see 'fuckwits') but I've never been hassled by a professional driver (trucker, coach driver etc.) because they can see it's in their best interests to use all the road (both lanes) and merge in turn (so no-one should have to stop).

But a complete stranger might gain a few extra seconds.
It worries me how "hard" people become when behind a wheel

Watch it again, he doesn't "speed up" at all like some are suggesting. The traffic continues as it has done and there isn't space for the Audi to get across. At no point is she safe to do so and at no point does she have the space to do so or even be infront of the van to merge over.

  15. if it had been the door to a boozer or shop he'd have held it open and waved her through, cars turn people mental

Or force people to drive into cones at a slow speed :lol: she's a fucking divvy. Driving into cones to try and gain an advantage  like another poster said, what if it was a wall rather than cones?

He didn't though, you have to take into account other people's bellendery when you're driving. He clearly wasn't going to let her through so she should have backed off and waited for someone else to let her in. The highway code will say something along the lines of merge in turn blah blah blah "if safe to do so" When you're trying to force another driver to bend to your will by driving aggressively it clearly isn't safe.

I hope she got done for wreckless driving and wilful damage. Surely just driving into the cones would be classed as that???

Oh for the cones to be there because of a hole in the road..
