Smart casual

In the early 2000s, I would regularly visit our US head office in Boston. The office attire there was very much Docker pants and polo shirt. While in the UK ties were still commonly worn. I stood out like a sore thumb on my first few visits but eventually decided to go native. When in Rome, and that sort of thing.

First day in the office after buying some Dockers at Macey's, I got a few comments of "Hey, nice pants". Which is something I've never been complemented on before, and the sort of thing which could get you in trouble with HR if said in the UK.
In early 90s I worked for a company that were UK dealers for a US software company. Our pompous old-school MD went over for a visit to negotiate commission rates (he got totally rinsed 😆) and when he came back he said proudly in a meeting that they were clearly a good professional outfit because everyone was "suited & booted". I didn't tell him about the calendar on the wall in the office in Michigan that highlighted "tie days" - everyone would keep suit & tie in a locker to put on when it was a tie day then take off again when the visitors buggered off and revert to standard Bermuda shorts & t shirt.

Well there was people there in Man United tops and trainers so I could have worn what I wanted. Still achieved a dream come true by having a professional photo taken with my hero. He like my Denmark pin badge too.

Do a Rosedene friday night special look.

Pink or sky blue Ralph Lauren shirt (a size too small so your beer belly sticks out like a sore thumb).
Bootcut levi jeans,(a little bit too short or stupidly too long take your pick)
Really daft pointy brogue shoes.
Dye your hair with Just for men jet black but leave your sideboards grey to try and fool people its natural.
Big chunky fake Rolex/Tag watch.
Jobs a good'un.
