Smart casual

Going to an evening with Peter Schmeichel on Friday ( yeah I’m not Danish and weird, we know). Just received an e- mail to say there’s a dress code of smart casual. Can anybody tell me what passes for “smart casual”? I’m not normally one for going to things like this.
An open necked, but well cut shirt.

A jacket.

A pair of trousers that match the shirt - not denims.

A pair of shoes that match the trousers and shirt

A Flare.

It’s a canny hotel that mind have stayed there a few times. As has been said start casual doesn’t preclude anything these days bar sportswear really. Smart jeans, nice polo / jumper and decent trainers - think axel arigato or casual shoes - Clark’s desert boots etc you’ll be fine

Yep sort of shit Ant & Dec Wear. Hate it but going to have to wear it.
Genuine question what were you hoping to wear to an evening do at a hotel in central London on a Friday night?

Absolutely fine for daily or the gym. But to answer your original question again smart casual is t-shirt/jumper, jeans and smart trainers. But as someone else has alluded to already, given the event you'd probably be better with a smart shirt, trousers and shoes .
Haway why would anywhere put smart casual on a ticket / invitation if they wanted people to turn up wearing t-shirt, jeans and trainers.

Because that can be smart casual, it's a talk in isn't it? Some I've been to is a shirt and tie job and some were smart casual.
