Sky/Aerial Installers

After a wasted morning waiting in for Sky to turn up and quote Health & Safety for not putting up a Sky dish as they would need longer ladders/specialist equipment to get to the roof. (Im more annoyed about the fact that I told them what was required as far as the fitting of the aerial was concerned.
Wondered if anyone could recommend a reputable company that fits aerials/freesat that wont require the installer to run a cable through two rooms (including two working fireplaces).

Sky have a special heights team (or use to) I lived in a 3 story house, Sky came out to install sky, guy said he couldn’t do it, need special heights team, 2 more appointments, each time the lads said can’t do that need a cherry picker. Another appointment made, this time a fella in a little white van rocked up (not a branded van) took one look, lashed 3 ladders together and off up he went and sorted .

I just didn’t want to bother with sky again to be honest. I was away at Peterborough with family and came back just to have the engineer give me the spiel about not being able to to it. All they need to do was recce it weeks ago. Know what you mean about the old school fitters. No harness lash a couple of ladders together and off they go. Obviously sky don’t need the custom and I don’t get virgin down the street so I’m knackered really.

Look at me, I can afford a dead tall house etc. Pathetic.

Incidentally, I don’t know of anyone reliable.
Look at me I live in the flat at the top of a git big house ;)

Just buy one of the paper thin ones

About a tenner
Which what?

In my last house they wouldn't even go on a flat garage roof to access the dish. Had to be accessible from ladders on the deck only.

Give John a shout at 1st choice Areils ,John is passionate about clipping his cables at 600cts .

FWIW john came to my wedding and we had cracking reception afterwards .

That happened to us years ago. Told sky to stick it. Had cable installed. Not too impressed with Virgin though.

"According to the latest HSE statistics, working from height was the most frequent cause of fatal accidents to workers in 2017, accounting for 28% of the total. There were also 43,000 non-fatal accidents involving falls from height across all industries."

Get cable or get a ladder and DIY.
