Six games (hopefully) a litmus test of LJ’s credentials to manage SAFC going forward.

Peterborough, Blackpool, Lincoln, Charlton and Portsmouth will win tomorrow. Put them on your six fold.

Using ppg as a guide makes no sense, it's the league placings that matter.

Always has done, always will do - except for last season's exceptional circumstances

How does it make no sense.

If a Manager is sacked because his side aren’t performing or winning enough games, and his replacement comes in and wins less and loses more, it’s the perfect comparison to use. If one manager isn’t performing and his predecessor is worse than that how can it be deemed a success.

Lives in the states, is married with a bairn and is doing ok as an actress. Apart from that, nee idea. I’m not a stalker or owt.
She's an actress? I just thought she was a pair of breasts with an amusing name.

It sounds like 'happy Christmas' and also 'tits much.' Both of which seemed apt.

But if she's an actor I'm going to have reconsider everything.

She went and studied acting after she’d struggled with depression. Then moved to the states to try and make a fresh start. Good luck to the lass.

Aye, you're right about fine margins like. I do think it's disappointing that we're not looking more of a cohesive unit, but if he gets it right when it matters and we go up then he's done well.

Like I say, I'm certainly not in the "sack him if we don't go up" camp but I do think he'll have a lot to prove. Will definitely be a pain in that there will be some who have their mind made up, ideally we'd be starting next season with fans back and all singing from the same hymn sheet. My main worry will be that, if he isn't the right man, it'll be yet another case of getting rid mid way through next season, then writing the rest of it off while saying he needs "his players" in. We can't keep writing seasons off. Not sure what the answer is though because I'd definitely keep Johnson. There's no point in trying to change the style, get consistency through the squad, and then immediately make a managerial change. Just f***ing hope he is the right man, and wish there were a few more reasons for confidence!
The pain of that should be lessened by the structure. The players should never be Johnson’s players, they’ll always be Sunderland’s. it should make changes mid-season much less disruptive.

Again though, he's done this whilst actually getting less points per game than Parkinson got this season. And with a January transfer window and Aiden McGeady. I mean, its Parkinson's own daft fault for not using Mcgeady but for Johnson to have a worse record even with him it doesn't inspire confidence. To be fair to Johnson he did have a game on his first day and the Covid outbreak to deal with but still, the fact we were (for a time) near automatic is more due to the fact a lot of other sides went off the boil as opposed to being anything greatly positive from Johnson. And now we're in the position where we still might miss out on play offs. I don't think we will but this run is a real concern. If we stagger over the finish line and lose in the play offs he'll have been no better than Parkinson this season, and no better than the bloke we all said was shit and should never have been here in the first place is far from a ringing endorsement
I think the other clubs blowing up is counterbalanced by the defensive injury crisis. With a fully functioning defence gaining confidence in each other during the good run I think we’d still be in with a chance of automatic if not be favourites for it.
Owt could happen now like.

We could get promoted without winning another natch, we could win the playoffs on penalties, semi final and final

I'll still be watching it and my lad will too even though he said he wasn't bothering again this season (he's 16 and a sore loser!). I'm sure this terrible run came about cos me and him got our first season tickets for next season.

Dont worry mate. I got my first one since Steve Bruce was in charge and we havent won since i bought it so its probably on me

I don't think hes done very well. I cant believe that section of supporters that had veins popping out of their heads fuming over Parkinson but are philosophical after 3 points in 18 and chucking 2 goal leads away at home to Accrington Stanley. That said he still has a great opportunity ahead of him in the next month and if he gets us up whatever anyone thinks so far he will have done a great job. Good luck Lee - get it right.

Not watching utterly f***ing grim football certainly helps, and the fact that we can actually see that there's a plan to go out and win games....even if it doesn't always happen.

Why are we still talking about Parky anyway? You seem a bit obsessed with him.

I'm sorry like but 3 points out of 18 in the third division and chucking away 2 goal leads at home to Accrington Stanley in the way we did is as grim as its ever been for any Sunderland supporter of any age.
