Aye, maybe a bit harsh but he does need to start at least contesting for a ball in the air, be more aware and alert. Looks like he could do with a good old shaking to wake him up at times.
I actually rated him tonight. It was a tough job whne he had no support and he worked hard. He's not the finished article but he;s good enough for the Champo.

One of the big issues is clearly recruitment. There was no one to bring on for him nor is there anyone to keep on his toes in fear of his losing his place. Addressed elsewhere, but if we are aiming to play 2 up top, you can’t go into a long season with 2 CF’s.

You need a 3rd (and probably a 4th striker) to step up when there’s an injury and keep the top 2 motivated.

Absolutely shocking tonight. What a difference between that and his first game. Let’s hope his motivation hasn’t gone already (we’ve seen it before). Also, Ross Stewart must be available soon or we have no threat going forward. You don’t realise how good he is until he isn’t playing.

What a pile of shite, neither Pritchard or Roberts got close enough to him tonight, he was on his own. Bad day at the office, we move on.

Got a lot of stick in the away end how come it’s always the black strikers who seem to get the abuse of being lazy won’t jump etc.

Posts on here suggest not. He was very poor. He did have a bad day at the office, you are right…..
He is a young kid its bellends like you who ruins confidence
Knacker. As someone said above, he was getting stick from the away end from his performance. Football is about opinions, to me, he was the worst of a bad bunch tonight (worse than Clarke). Do you think he played well? Perhaps if he played well he would get confidence from that.

For a big lad he’s poor in the air and very easy to get off the ball. Gone off the boil a bit. I’m getting the feeling that he’s not wanting to put the shift in (which is why he worked so well with Stewart who did)

Hopefully just a blip but wasn’t helped tonight.

Hes a young kid learning his trade . Its idiots like you that can ruin careers.
Get back to school

That's what i'm trying to get at..does Simms 'want it' enohgh?? Got all the attributes but i have my doubts.
I think hes been able to be " decent " in third gear at the levels hes played at and the level of expectation . He better find another couple of gears here or he will not progress and might warm a bench come january . Not writing the kid off cos as you say the attributes are obvious , just hope he realises which way the wind blows before it does actually start to blow at the SOL .He can end up a wellbeck or a januzai up to him

Which other black strikers have we had which got such abuse?

Jones was class in the air…

Bent , Gyan and welbeck it wasn’t there game.

Can’t even remember if Stern John got enough game time to get abuse
