Has taken 2-34, including the wicket of Pietersen, from 6 overs in the 40 over game this evening.

A case of what might have been with his England career if it hadn't been for injuries.

England's best bowler in '05 IMO. Flintoff and Harmison get the plaudits though.

His reverse swing in 2005 has been responsible IMHO for us focusing on good swing bowling since then.

THAT ball to Michael Clarke at Old Trafford was the best example of it I can remember

your always deemed to be better when outside the side than when your in it

decent bowler but played so little nigh on impossible to judge on how good or bad he might have been

Michael Clarke was the victim of two of the greatest deliveries I've ever seen, both in the same series. That reverse swinger from Jones and that ridiculous slower ball from Harmison.

pace and bounce is 'sexier' than line and length

Simon Jones was a very quick bowler. Flintoff bowled with line, length, pace and bounce that series. And as previously mentioned, all the bowlers stuck their hand up in that series. Probably the best bowling unit Ive seen for England.

the quickest a certain JS Foster had faced a short while ago

I remember I first saw him playing for Glamorgan at Cheltenham just a few months before that sickening injury in Brisbane. It seemed like the keeper was taking it as he was delivering it, fast as hell and definitely slowed down by that injury, though that might have turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it seemed that was the catalyst for him becoming a swing bowler, and a bloody good one at that.
