Simon Grayson - not good enough

Been concerned with what he's been doing tactically so far this season but today was something else. Why he is so reluctant to just put us into a 4-3-3 is beyond me. He's even got the squad for it. All this chopping and changing would be difficult for a team (and manager) with real tactical intelligence. It's murder for our lot. Grayson needs to simplify things, shore it up, stop pissing about and just let the players bed in with a shape that they know - one that protects us a bit

We're not Preston North End. He's setting the side up negatively and we're not having a go even though we are the home side. It was the same against Leeds and it is baffling. Don't give a toss we haven't spent a lot of money, probably paying 3x the wages of Sheffield and Ndong will cost 2/3x their whole side

Needs to buck his ideas up and quick. There's no point playing hoofball when he's putting up a side that has no pace in it. Vaughan can't win the flick ons and Grabban is a disgrace when the ball comes long, doesn't even want to contest it. The second goal came from a free kick where Grabban didn't even contest the header. Really poor.

Basically it's aimless long balls and hoping we nick one.

I know what the bloke in your picture would do.. save us all

deserves all the pelters for that selection

disgraceful he did it. If he repeats it he deserves the sack

idiot

if rodwell or Galloway ever play again it really bring into question his judgement.
his selection of rodwell has clouded my view of him along with the defensive line up

I hope it was a brain fart

i won't accept a second episode without calling into question his ability

actually fuming

Call the bloke out if you want, criticise his tactics if you want but out of his depth?

The bloke got promoted with Leeds United and when he left the club was in the Championship and the club statement read

"We have 18 games to go this season and are still within touching distance of the Play-Offs, but felt with the transfer window now closed we needed to make the change at this time in the belief that a new managerial team will be able to get more out of the existing squad of players and make the difference"

So he stabilized the side he got promoted and still had nearly half a season to get them in the play offs.

The bloke is not out of his depth, he has managed a club that is arguably bigger than SAFC going on the history of the last 50 years and he did very well with one promotion and then mid table stability with a chance of the play offs.

I think as a fan base we seriously need to get over ourselves, some on here make themselves sound like them up the road with this sense of entitlement and this arrogant idea that we are somehow bigger than managers who have done well elsewhere; ffs we were turned down by the manager of Aberdeen.

The faster fans accept that we are where we are and until we get rid of Short then things are unlikely to change the better.....Slag off the players and manager as much as you want but we are in a league where we are being outspent by nearly every side in there and our squad reflects that.

The only thing that will take us forward is getting rid of Short, sack as many managers as you like, change this group of loanees and rejects/journeymen for the next load of loanees/rejects/journeymen and we will still be where we are but paying up Graysons contract too.

All efforts now need to be put into putting pressure on Short to get out of Dodge. You know as well as I do when SAFC fans decide someone is leaving then they are leaving.

Not out of his depth at this level but perhaps with the problems that the club has. He hasn't started well.

11 managers in recent years including some of the best managers in football couldnt solve those problems. I think putting together the players he has on the pathetic budget he was given is miraculous tbh.
