Sicily



I mentioned sicily on here last year. I got off the plane with my four year old daughter and the driver picking me up was punched in the face by a member of the mafia for refusing to pay the mafia parking tax. Did it in full view of the armed caribineri, with knuckle dusters, and they just turned a blind eye. Blood all over the place.

Was an ok holiday besides that.
 
Its great. Interesting place. Did most of it from ancient Syracusa in the South. through Catania, Mount Etna, Taormina which was very touristy but nice. The Aeolian islands which are great. Stayed on Lipari. Must go to Stromboli for the day. Finishing in Palermo. Mad city and drivers. Great food everywhere, bit of everything. Beach, history, real cities, mountains, islands. Pizza. Pasta. Mafia.
Get yersel there.

One of the best holidays ever.

Took both wheel arches off an old Peugeot 309 in cefalu. Mad bastard in an audi squeezing between me and a parked car (my right of way ). Cracking piece of driving by me to just lose the wheel arches on him and a dry stone wall:cool:
