Shrewsbury - The Opposition's View

Was today a slow start? I didn't think so, just because we didn't score until second half, we didn't give a way a goal early on or look like doing so. We were better in the second half, sure, but the first half was 50/50.
First half we were absolutely shocking like

One thing I've noticed is we've got to push the start button from the first minute, its taking far too long to get going. If we carry on like this I can see quite a few setbacks. The home games in particular should be like the Alamo straight for the juggular, our home fans would then just drive it like a Juggernaut.

What a strange comment this is from one of their fans:

For any Sunderland fans on this site........ACCRINGTON are a far superior side to you lot. Judging by yesterday's showing you 'ARE NOT' promotion material.

Yet again, it's as if they desperately want other clubs to be better than us, it really is odd. If they'd said they thought they are better than us etc. fair enough, but it's as if they are in support of other clubs. It's even more strange considering Shrewsbury actually beat Accrington

They fail to acknowledge we were missing players, Oviedo, Power, Wyke, Watmore, Hume all out. Gooch just returning to fitness. I wonder if Accrington Stanley have suffered many injuries/suspensions to key players this season.

Same every game mate. They are gutted they bottled their big day out, their best attendance of the season. Everyone wants the underdog to do well.

It’s interesting being the big fish in the puddle.

To be fair we were playing them at fooball.

I assume their preferred sports are basketball and head tennis...they would cane us in those...

Ross set out to allow Shrewsbury to wear themselves out, keep it at 0-0 and put the pressure on when they tired.

It worked perfectly and we found loads of space in the second half.

If that's being 'shite', in some eyes, then fair enough ..... it's called tactics as far as I'm concerned.

The opposition will obviously come out all guns blazing at the start, trying to mix it with them would be a big mistake imo.

I said to someone on Saturday that it was going to just like Charlton in the first game of the season - after 70 minutes they'd be blowing out of their arses. And they were.

They’re saying we aren’t promotion material yet we’ve only lost 1 in 13. We’ve lost fewer games than Shrewsbury have won this season

The simple fact is that quality wins games, for the last six years or more there have be far to many games when we have said we should have got more from a game but apart from a couple of flashes of quality we more than matched the so call superior opposing team. Well we are now the team with that little bit of extra quality which wins games against hard working well organised teams.

It’s just a shame that we have had to fall so far to get to this point. However I will enjoy it while I can.
