For those coming down on the train you can either turnleft out of the station up the hill into town centre ( theres loads of great pubs) or better still head straight across the road with the river on the rh side. Pass “ the Alb” pub, pass the bus station, and premier inn and theres a cracking pub just along the road called “ the Salopian “ - small pub but has all the sports on TVs and a great selection of real ales and lagers. Theres a wetherspoons and other bars just a bit further along the same road. To get to the ground get a bus to Meole Brace or a taxi. Its a 30/40 minutes
walk from the town centre to the stadium. Theres only 1 pub anywhere near the ground !!

C’mon Reiv

The Mrs ‘s can trip them
& we can “help them up”

I'm up for it mate,

'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the
Inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men
Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will
shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness
for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children
And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious
Anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers
And you will know
My name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee
'.

Cracking pub The Salopian! The Station is good too for anyone fancying a bit of craft. My pub is about 20 miles away and is better than both!

Certainly comes across that way. Very much like Durham. Hopefully there's decent restaurants though!
Great place to live - been here 10 years now. If you want some recommendations send me a DM

I’ll be there with my dad and taking daughter to her first game

Decent pubs in Shrewsbury.
If driving by car not the easiest place to park. Always find my little lay-by if early along the Oteley Road (B4380).
If going by train again a fair distance. Got a taxi once to ground but unless you book a return not one waiting after the game. There is a park and ride bus that runs from the ground back to the station but it gets busy. Pub next to main roundabout with decent parking on match days.
Stewards were decent during last visits and decent balti pies.
