Re: haway no excuses get to the match

were we struggling for quite a bit of time before reid came in? awa, think back

So have all the people who were filling the stadium just magically disappeared then? no, they r sitting on their arses in the pubs watching it, even lads i know who used to go home and away r doing it. just can't understand whycpeople would rather watch it on television rather than being there, baffling.

Re: haway no excuses get to the match

how the fucks that you tedious twat? i said that under reid we were gettin nigh on full houses and we r practically in same position now if not better financially with the chairman we have got now.

You pointed out 2 years out of many many before and after and claimed it should be like that all the time  Christ we were riding high on the fact we had a brand spanking new stadium and the best attacking team I've witnessed play for us. The crowds were always going to dwindle unless we sustained it because we had never had crowds that good for decades beforehand and we failed to sustain it miserably. I'm not really sure why people can't see this.

Oh and we are still one of the best supported clubs in the land despite this and yet you still claim it's poor

Re: haway no excuses get to the match

I can't understand how any "supporter" can opt to stay at home, watch on telly or go to a pub when he/she has the opportunity to go to the game, unless it's strictly financial or due to commitments...I'd give my eye teeth to get to any game at any time if I wasn't 2000 miles away and costing over a grand for each game....which I do anyway as many as 12 times a year...no excuses lads...you either support the club or you don't...there's no room for fence-sitters and plastic fans!

cracking post mate.

Re: haway no excuses get to the match

Wont be there today as skint will have a few pints in the local then straight off home gutted not there. feels strange missing a game like.

erm i said today's attendance is poor, chance to get into quater finals of fa cup against 1 of biggest clubs in england, if we win this we are 1 game away from wembley. Team are doin terrific, what more incentive do people need?

Re: haway no excuses get to the match

How does the amount of people turning up damage SAFC? We are one of the top supported clubs in the country

Well with site of the ground half empty might deflate the players and with everyone will be so spaced out we might even be outsung by the Arse. Giving their team the advantage.

Any neutrals watching on TV will think less of the club, this could include potential new signings for the Summer, potential sponsers etc.

Any mags watching will have their 'stadium of empty seats' ammo returned.

Ellis short will wonder why he keeps plowing his money in when half the fans cant be arsed.

Should I go on????

We'll have around the third best crowd of this round and the only two that will beat it have won trophies and many of them in recent years.

Any neutrals watching on TV will think less of the club, this could include potential new signings for the Summer, potential sponsers etc. couldn't give a toss what neutrals think and I very much doubt any sponsor will be put off by it either.

Any mags watching will have their 'stadium of empty seats' ammo returned. Mags are imbeciles and I couldn't give a shit about what they think.

Ellis short will wonder why he keeps plowing his money in when half the fans cant be arsed. I'm sure he'll be devastated and want to sell the club

You can try and go on but your points are pretty much pointless.

So which bright-spark mod merged "haway no excuses get to the match" with a thread called "Should the club sell tickets from stalls?"

Fuck me, there's some stupid fuckers about like.

Tickets should be available in club shops, and we should have club shops in the Metro Centre, Durham and South Shields I think. They don't have to be massive (the one in Washington is fine), just a visible presence.

IMO it would be a good idea for the club give a shop or something the right to sell tickets in each town around sunderland and Durham. I notice the mags sell their tickets in HMV.

Just thinking - maybe a few stalls with tickets from defined areas at reduced prices eg front 6 rows of north stand etc

In town centre, galleries - places like that. Make it easy for people to buy them - there's a big assumption from me that many people are simply too lazy to buy but might of it were in front of them. Passing trade if you like

Interesting idea, however, until the club slashes season ticket prices then there is little/no chance of full houses on a regular basis for the forseeable future.

never really been arsed about these attendance threads if people want to go go if they don't simple i have been around the globe following sunderland, pre seasons stupid cups pointless games.

same with many lads who dont go no more they will be out in the pub today and they will stay in the pub am i bothered no as they have been to as many games than more on here for over 30 years we have stood side by side

so if they want to sit in the pub let them, i will support the lads if it is just me in the ground could not care less what others do.

Some people have families now and well £20 is cheap? not to a lad supporting kids on temp contract work for £200 a week.

never judge these pub fans as most of them will have been up and down the country with the lads over the decades.

Exactly.
I was going to go to the pub to watch it.
Didn't find out 'til Thusday, that it's on 'Poor Man's Tele'.
So that's a bonus, I don't even have to go out now

Been to Gent, Calais, Sevilla, Hameln, Monchengladbach, Portadown, Hibs, Hearts, Ibrox, Celtic, Dundee, Berwick, Gretna, Ayr, Falkirk and various English grounds watching us in PSFs.

I've seen them play in 87 different league Grounds.
Had season tikets at RP and the early SOL.
Still go to a fair few away games.

Yet I've only been in SOL twice since the North Stand Extension.
Once was the 1-4 v The Mags and that was enough for me.

The club owes me nothing, because I go/went by choice.
Likewise I owe the club nowt.
I've done my time - And now I'll leave it to the younger lads to follow them every game in shit weather etc.

I'll be in the pub.
