Should the Chanpionship be a Franchise competition?

Some good posts on here but I feel that none have quite detailed how much of an utter **** Kevin Pietersen is.

I'd just like to point out, that for once, history proved The Rat right on this one!

I think thats when I got the most bans in SMB history, the period where he scored like 200 for Surrey against Leicester and everyone wanted him back but Strauss said they had moved on

Fair enough people might wanted him back from cricket reasons but at least I have been consistent of how much a **** I thought he was!

It’s just Kevin Howells interviewing Neil Snowball who is FTECB’s Managing Director of County Cricket.

To summarise, he swerved every single difficult question, but the two main takeaways from that for me were:

  • Absolutely no plan whatsoever to play franchise red ball cricket - but of course the door was left open with regards more franchised white ball - repeated several times that the county structure with the history and heritage and loyalty of each and every club needs preserving.
  • Wouldn’t rule out a shortening (even further) of the red ball schedule.
He squirmed like f*ck when Howells put to him that it would royally piss off county members, who have remained loyal during a cost of living crisis but who would seriously question whether their membership was value for money if 14 CC games became 10.
Just got round to listening to that.

Fair play to Howells, he didn't shy away from asking some awkward questions. I thought the point about cross platform advertising, or the lack of it, giving away the ECB's position was very pertinent.

And when you think about it if, as they claim, they are getting good traction about the 16.4 online why is there no mention at all on any of it about the Blast, which started this week? If you were serious about the Blast, you'd use the engagement to push it.
