It’s just Kevin Howells interviewing Neil Snowball who is FTECB’s Managing Director of County Cricket.
To summarise, he swerved every single difficult question, but the two main takeaways from that for me were:
- Absolutely no plan whatsoever to play franchise red ball cricket - but of course the door was left open with regards more franchised white ball - repeated several times that the county structure with the history and heritage and loyalty of each and every club needs preserving.
- Wouldn’t rule out a shortening (even further) of the red ball schedule.
He squirmed like f*ck when Howells put to him that it would royally piss off county members, who have remained loyal during a cost of living crisis but who would seriously question whether their membership was value for money if 14 CC games became 10.
