No its tomorrow. It was nigh on black when i picked the bairn up at 3.30. seems to hav dragged tonight since then
I love the premise of the winter solstice. It's heading in the right direction now.

Doesn't really start "getting lighter" til the beginning of January though from what I read from somewhere.

The amount of daylight doesn’t start to increase until the 23rd I think.
Think it gets lighter in the morning first, then in the evening as we approach Spring...or something like that.

You are correct. I've even read that the time of day/ night doesn't begin to switch for another week or so. You have to imagine the earth slows down until the point it changes on its axis, so at the peak and trough in the year it is flat. It will accelerate toward the opposite end mid curve, i.e. spring and autumn.

Sounds like the reverse is true.
Down on the south coast we get nearly an extra hours daylight a day mind at this time of year.

I’ve had shorter.
Couple of weeks ago I woke up with a massive hangover and stopped in bed until about half four on the afternoon, got up had something to eat then went back to bed.
