Mick McCarthy has hit out at the way Wolves winger Matt Jarvis was dealt with by Fabio Capello ahead of England's clash with France.

McCarthy had already confirmed that Jarvis had made Capello's provisional list of names for the international friendly at Wembley on Wednesday night.

But the Wolves boss says, after the 24-year-old's hopes had been raised, there was no phone call or text from the manager or any members of the England hierarchy to inform the winger he had been left out of the final squad.

"Of course the hopes (of Jarvis) had been built up," said former Republic of Ireland boss McCarthy.

"I said in the press conference before last week's game with Bolton that he'd been named in the provisional squad.

"Of course, Jarvo had some good competition in Ashley Young, Adam Johnson and also Stewart Downing.

"My point is that if you get notification that you might be called up, you might then get a call or text from someone to say 'sorry, you're not in'.

"We've all got each other's numbers but you find out through the media that Jarvo isn't going.

"There might be a different way of handling that, that if you are not going to be called up, a little phone call or text might not be out of order.

"A text saying 'sorry, you are doing brilliant keep going, a pat on the head' would do no harm."

Not even ringing him to let him know that he hadn't made then final squad after being in the provisional squad is a f***ing joke.

This comes after Capello wouldn't even tell the players face-to-face that they weren't in the squad for the World Cup instead not even bothering to call them himself but getting his assistant to do it for him

One of the key things needed anywhere is effective communication and Capello just simply cannot communicate.

All he had to do was give him a ring, explain why he wasn't in the squad and then give him encouragement that he is still in his thoughts for future squads as long as he keeps his form up.

Presumably he did the same with Turner.

For a man who demands respect he displays very little for others.

I still don't know why he's employed TBH. He has shown himself to be a bully, doesn't give people respect, Can't communicate with the media or his players, his tatics are baffling and he's achieved the bare minimum
