Can't blame the lad, although I can think of better ways to spend money than on oversized bottle of champagne surrounded by permatanned airheads. It's disgusting mind that someone who plays football for a living can afford to spend what would be a life changing amount of money for some people on a frivolous expense.

£17,500 that's about 88% of his weekly wage - probably the equivalent of me spending £600 on a tattoo when I was in Vegas in 2011. Non-story

Tbf, I'll doubt you have any idea what his weekly wage is

"look at me, I earn about £35,500 a year" ;)

Yes it's a lot of dosh, but compare it to Rooney and £300k a week... Is WR £275k better than Connor...

Must be the in thing to do.

I am sure this is not the first time this type of story involving an expensive bottle of Champagne has been in the papers.

It might even be the same resort.

Story of relativity. We all like to splash out on something that costs a chunk of our weekly/monthly wage. For us it might be a games console or something, for footballers it's something that costs the same as an employee for a year.
I spent 2500 yuan on an ebike which is 30% of my monthly wage.

What do I win?
