Ship Badge to come back permanently?

Sunderland…. Always looking backwards.

Roy Keane? Bring him back!
Old badge? Bring it back!
The mines? Bring them back!

Do any other clubs have such ridiculous levels of nostalgia in the fan base?
It’ll never catch on ….

Having a head coach …. nah
Employing a competent striker …. nah

We’re all for new fangled ideas … it’s the future !

All this "let's change the badge" stuff is almost like culture wars in politics: a convenient distraction to turn people's attention away from what really matters and what really needs changing.

It particularly reminds me of Charlie Meth-head's "let's replace the seats" campaign - a way of of looking like you're spending money but in reality a way of avoiding spending a lot more. I'd have had pink seats all day long if the team had been any good.

Bruce that said it, he has nowt to do with football (although now we know he does worship KS)

In the next few years too, suggesting it's not a priority. Just 'on the radar', as branding should be for someone in his position

Given how many have changed to a “retro” version of their badges/kits in recent years I would say so, yes.

Don't think I've ever watched us in with the old ship badge, but sign me up for a modern version of it.

I also don't hate the current badge either mind, but wouldn't be against freshening things up.

Although I hate round badges, so hopefully whatever the change is isn't to something like that, although it probably will be...

I think a lot of the modern ones look cack. City's remake was decent but off the top of my head that's it. Be nice to see some plans and for it to actually go to an official vote and proper dialog.

I love our old one with the blue background rather than the black. Our latest badge is also the identity for the club for a major percentage of our fans under a certain age group. I'm old enough to remember both but the new one all be it busy is sunderland in my eyes.

The way of the modern world means badges will need updating every 10 year.

We will likely run into similar issues to the mags with their current badge. Unless they can come up with some fantastic redesign that can maybe be a blend of the two we have a perfect option ready to use.
