Shields school in lockdown

Sorry, couldn't find it.
Some interesting comments:

"A group of lads attempted to steal a motorbike.

Is that literally it?? What a load of rubbish. We’d all like a bit more information that that.

My son’s classroom was barricaded shut with broom handles while they all hid under desks. Police presence outside the school again today. The school don’t do that because a bunch of lads were trying to pinch a bike"

I would imagine that the school was put in this state for the reason that the suspects were possibly armed to a point that would require a firearms deployment. One of top priorities and tasks of a deployment is to reduce risk to members of the public. Telling the school to keep windows and doors shut or delaying home time procedures is common if a deployment is local to a school. As soon as a search is done and area is deemed safe, everything can be lifted. Doubt the school were directly at risk. Just makes the lives of the AFOs on the ground easier and less to worry about.
