CorrectI think it can work but it needs huge reform in the summer. It was brought in to stop glaring errors being missed. It has gone beyond that and to the detriment of the game.

Nail on the head pal.The irony of West Ham claiming they've been robbed against Sheff United
Stick your Tevez masks where the sun don't shine
He repeated the law back to the interviewer so aye he does know. He was saying in the real world its not handball, its a bag of shit. Good interview I thought.
Hardly a surprise. Started his interview with something like "We done well......" one of my real pet hates. That is stunning. Declan Rice doesn't know the handball rule. Am I understanding that right. A professional footballer doesn't know the handball rule.
But if it wasn’t for VAR the ref would have missed it and the goal would have been given
As of this year, its hand ball if:
"A player gains control/possession of the ball after it has touches their hand/arm and then scores, or creates a goal-scoring opportunity"
So, nowt to do with VAR.
Like cricket - VAR will evolve over time - hopefully. It has everything to do with VAR. Yes it's the rule now but these types of infringements are so minimal that only VAR sees them. Same with the offside rule. VAR allows us to apply the rule correctly by stopping the game for 5 minutes to project a line across a player's toe. It's the worst thing that had happened to the game in my lifetime.
But fans have made their bed with all their whinging and abuse of refs. Now they have to lie in it.

Even Moyes in his interview is moaning about it being a "good goal" and blaming VAR for disallowing it even after the interviewer pointed out the above! Not the point. The laws were changed so that a goal can't be scored if there's been a handball in the move that led to it, whether accidental or not. Simple as that - once the ball hit his hand, it was always going to be disallowed.
Its not quite right to say its nothing to do with var. It's a new rule which I guess pretty much every such similar incident as to what happened tonight is not being picked up by the ref. Var is highlighting what a terrible rule it is. Saying it's nothing to do with var is wrong imo.Nothing to do with VAR. They correctly applied the new handball law.
I know exactly why the rule has come into force. Fans have been beefing for years about 'how come that's a handball, when that one 3 weeks ago wasnt', 'refs are so inconsistent' etc etc. So as a fail safe the authorities have chucked the towel in on this one and just said if it hits a hand and leads to a goal it's a handball. No more worries about 'consistency', everyone knows where they stand.
I had a feeling that this law would be extended to all handball. This is what a lot of fans wanted.
I don't blame them for bringing this rule. If you want consistency, there you f***ing have it!
It’s spoiling the game mate regardless of the ifs & butsNothing to do with VAR. They correctly applied the new handball law.

The problem is it isnt consistent - Dele Alli hand balled it in the box against us and we weren't given a penalty.
The Van Dijk one recently
They have completely fucked this season up.
Just scrap it now, void whoever ends up winning the league and do play offs for who goes down at the bottom.
