Any suggestions for places to watch the match tomorrow night in Manchester, specifically near Old Trafford?

Cheers in advance

Any ideas @glen?

I'm at a gig near Oxford Road so ideally want somewhere central so I can get between the two quickly.

There's no other game on tonight so I'm sure I'll be able to get any bar with Sky to stick it on like but was wondering if anyone was planning on watching together.

Never been before but would assume it would show football at cafe football, right opposite the stadium.

There’s not too much else near old Trafford mind. There’s matchstick man on Salford quays and quite a few places in Chorlton which isn’t too far a walk. Problem is rugby World Cup is on tonight so not sure if places would just stick that on.

Don’t usually watch Sunderland matches in Manchester but meeting some mates tonight and one of them is Sunderland fan so will probably want to watch it. Majority of places I thought off are advertising the rugby so will probs try the bigger sports bars (brotherhood, directors box, calico etc)

a few of the branch have a booth booked in The Directors Box
Duffys bar in Chorlton? If not it’s a £8 uber to the city centre.
Duffys is a good shout. We have had some good days there watching us win at Sid James Park

One year, we were the early sunday game, followed by Man Utd. The look on Man Utd faces was superb as they walked in towards the end of our game to see about 30-40 Mackems bouncing off the walls. Duffy's was @Steak Pie local when he lived in Chorlton

Used to drink in Fallowfield and Withington areas.
In Fallowfield, the Friendship Inn has loads of screens and is now mainly, a student pub.
In Withington the Victoria pub is smaller, but has a fair few screens (even in the yard out the back).
The Red Lion, going towards Didsbury, is bigger, but think they focus more on food ? Used to have a few screens for footy.
Loads of students in all 3 pubs, so a friendly atmosphere...

Forgot about the Friendship, but yes, the game will be on there. i went there to watch the away leg of the play off match vs luton. The place was rammed with sunderland fans. They even delayed their pub quiz until the match the finished. it's a pity we couldn't score that night, as the place would have erupted.

Freshers' week so likely to be a bit mentally busy in student bars..

If that's the case, the Red Lion on the edge of Withington would be your best bet.
The Friendship Inn is a very large pub with loads of outside seating, where lots of the students tend to sit, so they can drink their own booze ?

Pete the landlord there couldn't be more sound, opened at 11am on a Sunday for us so we could get settled and watch the build up. We repayed him in takings mind. :D

I do as I turned up solo. Soon was surrounded.

Even the shit £2.75 lager he had on those days will have turned a profit!
