Shearer🤣

Shearer was born and bred in Newcastle & for ten years he was a terrific player for them. At one stage he was even their interim manager so it's not really a surprise that he's still a very big Mag supporter. Whenever I have seen him make any comment about SAFC on TV he's always been fair minded and professional giving praise when it was due and criticism when it was deserved. Personally I have never met the bloke so I don't know if he's a nice or nasty man but like a lot of people as I probably will never meet him its not really an issue for me.

If Shearer doesn't turn up the commentate on the up coming cup tie against the Mags it will be because his employer doesn't want him there. I am sure that he would be quite happy sit in the SoL and soak up all the abuse while SAFC fans made fools of themselves on national TV especially if they sang that cringeworthy "Wanker's Hat" song.

It's a song that may have been funny nearly 30 years ago but its now well past its sell by date. After all these years Shearer must be more than used to it and its is very unlikely that he is either embarrassed or humiliated by it. In fact when he hears it he must have a bloody good chuckle to himself knowing that he can still get under the skin of quite a few of our number.

Boo the current Mag team as much as you like but folk need to move on from their obsession with Alan Shearer. He was years ago and he's no longer relevant there can't be many supporters who are under the age of 25 who can even remember him playing for the Mags.

...it's called rivalry. Maybe football isn't for you.
Maybe you're right. It's all pretty childish.

If he'd been particularly anti-Sunderland or crocked our players I'd be inclined to agree. In fact the opposite is true.

I hate that song now. Should be shelved for eternity.
Loved it when it was relevant but he is no longer relevant in the grand scheme of things.

If he returns and relegates them again let’s give it an airing but until then let’s not

I honestly Don’t care about Shearer at all, I do care about backing our team to the hilt on the day, so we get stuck right into the mags and try beat them, that’s all that matters to me.

Was an excellent striker, and as a pundit he's always been very fair to us. No problem.

Especially when there are now much better targets for songs - the whole filthy sportswashed puppet show.
