Shaun Udal

Diagnosed with Parkinson's.

My Dad suffers with this illness, a terrible condition. All the best to the lad.

Yes, saw he'd put something on his twitter account on Saturday. Very sad. Remember from when I was a kid many many years ago seeing one of me Mam's friends suffering from it. It's an absolutely horrible illness. Hope he manages to find some treatment that helps.

Very good video about the Professional Cricketers Trust featuring Shaun on Sky during Finals Day. The Trust supports former cricketers who have fallen upon hard times. The average professional cricket career comes to an end at the age of just 26, and many struggle to move on from the frenetic world that had become their daily lives. The vast majority earn very modest salaries during their short careers too, so have little opportunity to plan for life after cricket at such a young age. Worth thinking about this when we use critical words to describe their performances on the field.
