Sexism on PF?

I'm glad it's all on one thread. Last year for the Euros we had match threads they were taken over by the knuckle draggers. On top of that we had threads by posters crying about women's football being forced on them. Even one poster saying that the Euros getting more coverage than League One was discrimination!!!
Well, me and Mrs FrenchRed have just had a very long lunch in the pub and spent time with Rachel Daly's aunty, and the whole pub is absolutely buzzing. Bring on Sunday morning.

Don’t think it justifies a second forum based upon the fact 99% of threads are about the men’s game.

That’s still the main interest but don’t think the odd thread about separate matches would cause the issues some are suggesting.
Maybe not.

Yet.

But like I said Equity not equality.

See, it's the comparison that I don't understand. It seems to happen more with women's football too. Levels are levels, it's why the majority of sports don’t have, and right so, mixed competitors. If you look at sports where women have competed for just as long as men, swimming, track cycling, athletics, the comparison never gets made. Infact in those sports there's women who have been given legendary status for their achievements. For me, women's football is exactly that. Yrs they aren't as good as the men, but female sprinters won't ever be able to beat men at the highest level either.

Perhaps one day we will see a joint World Cup just as there aren't separate Olympics or Tennis grand slams for men and women.

Would be a lot of games to fit into a month though especially when they go up to 48 teams.

Why is the entire women's world Cup assigned to a single thread?

Are we going to do the same with the next men's world Cup?

Surely games like this deserve their own thread. I can understand (sort of) that non league football has a single thread dedicated to it but this is a world Cup ffs.

I'm sure this will get shifted to "that thread" quickly enough.

This is how it should be viewed. Its not men vs women. It's the best of the women against the best women from around the world. What people should be doing is rooting for their country to beat the best of the others. Simple as that. When Laura Kenny is winning gold in the velodrome you can't be thinking it's meaningless as she wouldn't beat Chris Hoy.

Rife it is, but the majority of you don't know your doing it.
Women’s football is a poor product, that offers no interest to me.

The male product is on a different planet in comparison, the female game is just light years behind.

Good on the lasses for achieving in their own category, but I refuse to show some faux interest just to make some poor little snowflakes happy. It’s just rubbish FFS.

Now, if someone was trying to stop women having their own game because they are female, I would defend their right to have a game with blood and sweat, but nobody can make me like/enjoy it as a product.

Wouldn't say its sexism, but certainly think games like this one deserve their own thread. That being said, are match threads actually being created and moved into the women's football thread, or are people just posting the teams and stuff in there initially?
This?
Has it actually happened or are people just moaning for the sake of victimhood?
OP grow up.
Just checked - I see other threads on the lasses. Total BS.

The Women's World Cup is nowhere near as popular as the men's World Cup, individual game threads would not get that many replies. There should be a thread for the final like

Not sexist at all to say you don't care about woman's football. The result on Sunday will not impact me whatsoever and I won't watch it by choice. I've tried to watch woman's football and it's not for me. Just like I don't like some sports played by men. But I watch the women's boxing and UFC. It's personal preference.

I've got friends and family who like the woman's football, do what you want, but I think starting a thread saying more people should like it, is a bit attention seeking really.

Because the first thing I look at in the morning is news now, I see a headline about a
Sunderland signing, click on it, only to find it's about the woman's team, and I'm not interested in the woman's team, so I've wasted my time, I can see the same thing happening on here, does that explain it. If it's all in one thread I won't bother with that thread and wont waste my time,
BBC is chronic for it, should have a sub category for it on their sports/football site not integrated into the men's game, it's not being sexist to separate it slightly to guide those interested in one or the other to the correct forum. The transfer bit is really annoying imo.

Because not as many people care or are bothered by it. If there was more interest, then there'd be more posts. Not saying thats right or wrong, just how it is.

I knew the game was today. I didn’t know it had kicked off until it had finished. I don’t not care- want us to win. But im not actively seeking it out and the media coverage- Apple News general social media it’s a non event- sadly
