Sexism on PF?

Seems like there are plenty of men on here supporting women’s football as I’ve only ever seen about 3 women comment on football threads, so it’s not all misogynists on smb, me personally get no connection to watching women’s game unlike the lads or England men’s so don’t watch but I like to have a nosey at threads sometimes 😳

I really don’t mind if there is a Matchday thread on Sunday.

All I’d ask is for the people who don’t want to watch it, or who think women’s footy is crap, or who want to post hilarious sexist jokes just don’t open it and let those of us who are really really enjoying this World Cup, enjoy it without you.

Thanks folks.

This sums up my other side of the coin. My preference is that its in one thread as I have no interest in it. No problem with it either, just prefer it kept to one thread that I can knowingly not click on.

Wouldn't be the end of the world should their be individual threads, all I ask is that they're clearly titled to spare me the annoyance of spending three seconds waiting for the browser to go back.

F**k me.

How have you escaped the ignore list?

Let me just rectify that.
Good idea.

If you don't like the facts and history that exist in the real world, you are better off inside your bubble safe with your feels and whatever passes for your truth in there.

I hope there is one.

It's a World Cup Final FFS. We don't get many of those.

I agree.

Racism and homophobia are no longer tolerated but but sexism is alive and kicking here.

Often posters are unaware of it. An example would be the fuss about Becs starting the match day threads last season. If Becs was a bloke nobody would give a toss about who started the thread.

It is just an example of men not treating women as equals.

Most people on here just treat me as one of the lads. You're the one who's brought my sex into it 🤷‍♀️

People like the thread because it has all the relevant information in the first post, so they can see what they need to know at a glance. It's got nothing to do with me being female.

Was the sole purpose of this thread to cause arguments? It has its own thread, big f***ing deal.

You are right. It isn’t non league.

The USWNT, acknowledged as one of the strongest national women’s teams in the game, we’re beaten 5-2 by FC Dallas under 15 boys academy team. So arguably it is below non-league standard.

It's down to biology.

Testosterone kicks in when boys hit puberty. As they grow into men, they develop a higher ratio of muscle mass to body weight which makes them faster and stronger than females. They have longer bones and muscles which increases speed and acceleration. They have bigger hearts and bigger lungs which gets more oxygen pumping round their bodies and makes them faster. If you look at the records of speed sports like running or swimming, women are consistently a lot slower than men and if you look at weightlifting, women lift a lot less than men as they don't have the muscle mass. Most 15 year old boys will be stronger and faster than the average woman footballer.

These matches are played as a training exercise for both parties. The boys are faster and stronger so naturally they win the match, but they're playing against professionals with a higher skill level, so they learn skills from the females. It's better for their confidence to win and develop these skills playing against ladies teams than playing against the top level of men's teams and getting pasted off them. The females learn how to deal with stronger and faster players and learn from the boys. They develop useful skills for when they come up against strong physical teams like the Colombia ladies.

As a side issue, it shows that boys who are going/have gone through puberty are stronger and faster than women. This is why so many women athletes are against transwomen competing in female sports, because while they might be presenting as a woman, their bones, muscles, heart, lungs etc., all have the benefits of being bigger and stronger due to male puberty.

Can we have a 'SAFC Striker search' thread and one just dedicated to Speakman though? Both would be very difficult to keep up with when we lose...

Why is the entire women's world Cup assigned to a single thread?

Are we going to do the same with the next men's world Cup?

Surely games like this deserve their own thread. I can understand (sort of) that non league football has a single thread dedicated to it but this is a world Cup ffs.

I'm sure this will get shifted to "that thread" quickly enough.
Everyone thinks your great now.👍
Theres a thread man why clutter the place up 🙄

Entirely.

We need to support, celebrate and protect women's sport.

I think you spelled jackass wrong there, marra.

The euros thread went gold

i suspect the thread on the World Cup will follow and even if there is a separate thread for the final. It can be easily merged

I just hope that all the tough nuts who refuse to enjoy the game for what it is , stay out of the final thread

it’s all been said before , nothing original and it just embarrasses themselves

Why anyone would turn their noses up at our country being the world champions at anything is beyond me.
Because it’s like winning a gold medal in shite sports like horse dancing, shotput or Rugby. People only pretend to like the sport when they’re winning.
